.'FOR SHERIFF
Ross H. Brown, former Klam
ath county deputy sheriff and a
farmer of the Henley district, on
Thursday declared his candidacy
for the republican nomination
for sheriff.
Brown's statement follows:
In announcing my candidacy
for sheriff on the republican
ticket J make the following
statement of my experience and
qualifications.
I was born in Kansas and
lived there and in Oklahoma un
til I joined the army in 1917. I
served ' twenty seven months
overseas, eleven months of
which were spent as sergeant
with the intelligence group In
the second battalion, 16th Infan
try of the First division.
When I returned from France
I came to Klamath Falls where
I have made my home. I am
married and have three children.
I served two years on the
Klamath Falls police force and
ix years as criminal deputy of
Klamath county under Sheriff
Low. In 1934 I resigned from
this position to operate my farm
in the Henley district.
I am running for this office
because I believe, tiat with my
background of experience and
residence here. I can effect cer
tain benefits for the people of
Klamath county.
I believe that the county jail
can bs handled with greater
economy, i

secure the fullest possible co

I would actively support
program that would work to
ward a closer coordination of
the assessor's and the tax col

With population increasing
and government costs mounting,
economy and efficiency are of

If nominated and elected I
would expect to get on the job

hard for crime prevention and
law enforcement.
