OREGON June 13, 1030 111 TO 01 ' The aheap shearing season In Klamath end Lake counties now pant Its peak, with grower wearing broad smiles In antici pation of the best Income for their crops In years. ' It is esu mated that Klamath and Lake counties' sheep men will receive close to a million and a half dol lars for lambs and wool alone, Estimates made by Lee McMullen of the Klamath Pro dnctlon Credit association, and Victor Johnson, Lake county ag ricultural agent, reveal the roi lowing startling figures which show a substantial Increase over recent lean years: For Klamatn county from sale of lambs, louo ' 000: from sale of wool, $390 000; total, $890,000, For Lake county irom saies oi mm, 1184.00: from sale of wool, I3S6.000: total. 1580,000. Grand total for Klamath and Lake counties. 11,470.000. Among tbe chief western buyers are the . Pendleton Woolen Mills, the . 'Woolen Mills at Salem, Webb and Son of Portland, and the Sacramento wool company. It Is expected that by the end of June practically all of the aheep population wiu nave reun mulshed their winter woolens. The "sheep barbera" receive bout 17 i cents per head for clipping ewe and twice that tor bucks, averaging about two ana "half to three minute per fleece.
