Today's shipment closely follow? a consignment of eight carloads of steers, ownod by D. II. Ilarnoburg of Ashland, sent to Sacramento to the C. Swanston & Son, wholesale meat dealers. The sales were consummated by the California Catllemens' associa tion, under the supervision of Jack Hunt, local representative. A. W. Schaupp Opens Up Law Office Here A. W. Schaupp, a prominent at torney of Eastern Oregon, has re cently moved to Klamath Falls and has opened up law offices in the I. 0. O. F. building In tho city. Mr. Schaupp has been engaged In the practice ot law In Oregon for many years. Is an ex-distrlct attorney of Wallowa county and has boon active In both legal and financial circles in Eastern Oregon where he Is widely and favorably known. Mr. Schaupp is not altogether a stranger in this city. He Is pres ident of the Klamath Valley Sav lngs and Loan Association, which was organized by himself and other business men of the city during the early part of 1925. Alderman Scrap But License Is Denied Anyway A smouldering tire of aggravation and argumentation that has smoked since the night that Councllmen Ralslger and Htucsey failed to put In an appearance at a meeting of the police committee, broke Into flames last night at an adjournod'mecting of the city council. It was over tho license of tho Ar cade hotel pool room and in paren thesis It might bo well to state that despite all the Verbal fireworks, the license for the establishment was denied. Last week a special meeting of the pollco committee was called, at which the Arcade hotel license was to have been discussed. One member of tho committee was present, Councilman Powell. Councllmen Dalslger and Stuckcy were conspicuous by their absence. Dalslger backed up Sluckoy In the controversy with tho statement Hint the pollco were not doing their best to clean up the town. Councilman Powell took the other side of the ar gument and strongly supported the police and tbclr activities.
