Alderman Scrap
But License Is
Denied Anyway
A smouldering tire of aggravation
and argumentation that has smoked
since the night that Councllmen
Ralslger and Htucsey failed to put
In an appearance at a meeting of the
police committee, broke Into flames
last night at an adjournod'mecting
of the city council.
It was over tho license of tho Ar
cade hotel pool room and in paren
thesis It might bo well to state that
despite all the Verbal fireworks, the
license for the establishment was
denied.
Last week a special meeting of the
pollco committee was called, at which
the Arcade hotel license was to have
been discussed. One member of tho
committee was present, Councilman
Powell. Councllmen Dalslger and
Stuckcy were conspicuous by their
absence.
The point at Issue the point of
argument Hcemed to bo over the
statement of Alderman Htttckey that
tho council In denying this license
seemed to be picking on one man.
Dalslger backed up Sluckoy In the
controversy with tho statement Hint
the pollco were not doing their best
to clean up the town. Councilman
Powell took the other side of the ar
gument and strongly supported the
police and tbclr activities.
