Ex ceeding its production schedule by more than 1.000. the Chevrolet Mo tor company built 55,504 motor cars nnd trucks during October, the third highest production in the history of the company. This achievement followed a simi lar performance in September when the company built 55,865 units, ex ceeding its production schedule by 2,700 after the schedule had been in creased nearly 7,000. September was the second highest month in Crev rolet production, being only 37S un der the high mark established two years ago. The production maintained during 'the last 60 days aided the company in its efforts to meet the heavy de I mand which has continued consis tently throughout the entire year. During the last seven months the i Chevrolet production has been 52,- 47 per month. During only one of these months did it fall below the Oakland Breaks Previous Record PONTAIC, Mich . Nov. 17.---The Oakland Motor Car company brok.' all previous monthly sales records during October when 8003 cars were shipped to dealers. As the factory has not yet caught up with dealers' unfilled orders ihcsc figures arc practically synony mous with fetitil sales. It also was more than 146 per cent greater than the sales in October of last year and represents a 6.1 per cent increase over September of this year. The present daily production will be gradually increased through November. December and January, and to this end three quarters of a million dollars have been spent in providing the necessary equipment to make possible the expanding Oak land Six production program. Particularly impressive records of retail sales were made In the large metropolitan cities of the country where competition is keenest.
