Police were called when the wild Indian was found pommeling a man in the Ford garage. A crowd quickly gathered outside of the garage when Patrolman Mitchell arrived on the scene. The Indian "was prostrate upon the ground. Suddenly he climbed to his feet and hit Mitchell a terrific blow on the nose. Mitchell retaliated with several hard IiIowh with ills sap which apparently had no effect On the whialcey-erazed Indian. Mayor Coddard stepped iu to aid Mitchell and just managed . , riodgi another heavy blow. The source of the clear and cold spring water was found Just south of Midland. It gushes forth from the barrow pit which parallels the road and flows In a clear cold stream Into the marsh. Which probably tells the story of why there was an Indian camp ground at that particular point. Whether or not the spring will be utilized for anything Is nil known.
