Both the Salem and Eugene lines are owned by the Southern Pacific company which was a party to the hearing. Adventists Meet at Jacksonville MEDFOKD. Ore., Aug. 28. One of the most important matters to be decided at the annual southern Ore gon conference of Seventh Day Ad ventists, which opened today at Jacksonville, will be the decision, whether or not a site near Jackson ville will be selected for the location of their college, formerly at Suthcr lin. Tlje several musical numbers were entertaining and the comedy and dancing acts were above the average. Prince Leo, the pony with the human brain, is marvelously In telligent and his stunts are mystlfy- i ing. to say the least. Taken all to gether, it if a very enjoyable pro gram. Curlnne Griffith added another leaf to the wreathe of laurel with which she should be crowned for the standard of excellence of her pic tures. "Declasse," the picture which was presented last night at the Pine Tree, captivated a critical audience. The photography was beautiful la every respect. Many well known faces were seen in the cast sup porting Miss Griffith. Among lb m were Lloyd Hughes, Hedda Hoppi r, Kockliffe Fellowcs, Louise Fazeuda, Ciive Erook, Lilyan Tavhman and others. After a continuous run of more than seventy weeks in New York, an engagement of a year in Lon don, and a brilliant road tour of the United States, "Sally," the Ziegfeld musical comedy hit, Is now on the screen, with Colleen Moore as the star. "Sally" holds the record for being perhaps the most successful musical i comedy ever presented in America, having netted, it is declured, more than $-1,000,000 in gross receipts.
