C.r.l M, " l'l.INT, MICHIGAN An investigation of crop pro duction, both present and potential, and the market for crops, prompted members and officials 61 the public service commission this morning to meet with the directors of the Klam ath Irrigation district and the Klam ath Federated Board. In both meetings the state men made it clear that they wore In Klamath to ascertain whether or not agricultural conditions in Klamath would stand an increase in railroad rates or a decrease. On t lie on, hand the railroads are petitioning the Interstate commerce commission for an increase in rates and on the other, a resolution is on record in congress asking that an investiga tion be conducted with the view in end of effecting a decrease in rail road rates for agriculture. Both the directors of irrigation district and members of the federat ed board endeavored to show why the railroad rates for farm products should not only not be Increased, but a decrease would help farmers secure a reasonable, profit from their land and spur them on to greater agricultural development.
