J., June 16 (IP) At least fifteen are be lieved to have been killed and i tent to kill, will be filed special seven car Delaware, Lacka manna and Western railroad train a mile west of here today. Twisted by lightning and under mined by heavy rains, the tracks gave way beneath the train and the cars and engine pilej up on one another. Reports said the train carried 182 passengers, mostly aliens from Chicago en route to Hoboken, where they were said to - sail for Europe today. Most of them were asleep when coaches pounded upon one another into the steam and Bcaldfng water bursting from the wrecked locomotive. The engineer, fireman and con ductor were killed. Fifteen bodies have been taken from the wreck. First reports made to the board of public utility commissioners by Lackawanna railway officials said three had been killed and 70 injured. Falls-OIene road last night in which Deputy Sheriff- Ed Kendall suffer ed a bullet-shattered left arm and right leg- Jim Burke was shot in the foot and Jack Hawkins of Olcne was struck below the knee by a stray bullet, a superficial wound resulting. This was the information given out this morning by Acting Dstrict Attorney D. R. Vandenburg, following a consultation with Sheriff Burt Hawkins. Deputy Kendall and Burke are at the Klamath Valley hospital. Kendall was shot through the arm above the elbow with a .39 caliber - Lngsr bullet . with hollow- point. , Tho bullet mushroomed and shat tered the bone and then spread, following tllo bone.
