The story tells of young Jninen Kent, who is employed as n struc tural Iron worker, but during his spare moments has perfected an In vention on his high-powered racing car that convinces him ho has the fastest motor car that ever digested "gas." WINTER COMES BACK WITH HEAVY SNOWS AT THE LIBERTY WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED j .-. The average resident of the city takes little interest in the fight that is being made to compel the California ' nrorrrm Pnwpr pnmnanv to return to the farmers the power sites and water rights that were stolen by the f Reclamation Service and handed over to that corporation. v finf it moans mnrp tn the residents of the city than it does to the f armers, for if the farmers win it will mean " the cutting of the cost of electricity in two, if not better. This statement is made upon the experience of the I Minidoka project. We take the following from the New , Reclamation Era, the official publication of the Recla ... Tnntirvn Service: '"Fortune has favored the Minidoka project in South era Idaho in providing a surplus of electric power over the demands of the electric pumpine division. ' Then it goes on to tell of the selling of the excess ; power to the town of Burley and other communities, which in turn retail it to the small consumers. Of these 7". latter it says: , ':, .,'.,...',, - ' - "Smnll ffinsnmers nav a hieher rate per kilowatt-hour than the larger consumers. Under existing lighting rates, THE SMALL CONSUMER IS ENTITLED TO USE 50 KILOWATT-HOURS FOR A MINIMUM ' PAYMENT : OF $1.84 PER MONTH, OR 3.7 CENTS PER KILO- WATT-HOUR." ; You now pay the California Oregon Power company - 10 cents a kilowatt-hour. If the Klamath Irrigation dis Jl" tric't had not been robbed of its power possibilities, if it had not been prevented by the Reclamation Service "' 'from developing the electric energy, you today would ' ' be in the same position as the people of Burley. You would be paying between 3 and 5 cents for what you are ".' paying to a private .corporation 10 cents.' The people of Klamath Falls are vitally interested in this matter. It has a direct bearing upon the growth of "' the citv. If the farmers win, it will mean a slashing of .. the cost of electric energy that will make Klamath Falls one of the greatest manufacturing centers in Oregon, .'This statement will be disputed and pooh-poonea , oy those who are under the thumb of the California Oregon ' Power comnanv. but before the fight is ended it Will be '(""shown1 in "these columns that this statement "is correct i and that instead of .being the great . benefactor and de- veioper uiai me ruwei cumpaii.y claims iibcix w uc n will be seen that it is, next to the Reclamation Service, the greatest handicap and stumbling - block this com Last evening, the audience at the Liberty Theater, where that spec tacular melo-drama, "The CyclJne Rider," was the attraction, the aud ience after regaining their breath, unanimously agreed this ' fast-moving automobile thriller "the best ever." The story was written by Lincoln J. Carter, the master writer and producer of the greatest melo dramas the stage ever played. With "The Cyclone Rider" under the ac curate direction of Thomas Iluck Inghara, the thriller roars from one hair-breadth escape to another no that most of the tii. one needs Cuugbt In the storm that has pre vailed throughout Oregon the past week, Klamath Kails this afternoon was In the grips of a violent snow storm accompanied by a steady wind from the north and northwest. Advices from the V. S.
