Hood Kiver, Pendleton, uaker and many other localities are enthusiastic In tins work, it is going to be a suc cess, and it is going to bring thous ands of tourists to' Oregon this year. As Illustrating what may be done by tourist travel a reporv from the Los Angeles Chamber of Com merce states that tourists spend from forty to fifty millions of dollars ev ery year in Los Angeles alone, and at least two hundred millions of dollars in the entire state of California. It looks as though Klamath Falls and Oregon have been "asleep at the switch." Oregon has far superior scenery and a much better summer climate than has California, and we can get the tourist travel headed this way if we will go after It in earnest. What has Klamath Palls done? Will we get into this letter writing week campaign with enthusiasm? The distribution of millions of dol lars through tourist travel will ben efit every community, and each indi vidual in the state. Klamath's vaca tion advantages certainly will inter est many. Scattered Shots EUROPE SHOULD go dry, accord Ing to the stories of the fearful losses of live in fighting over Champagne Sunday. IT SEEMS AS though the Mexican bandits have been "watchfully wait ing" for the right time to begin a slaughter. PAY-UP WEEK will be here soon. Pay the other fellow, and the fellow owing you might get a chance to also square accounts. NOW WE'VE all known right along that Klamath is there and over when it comes to being a quality wheat growing section. We also find out that others find it out, too, if we Just use a little publicity. THERE ARE SOME towns so dead that they have no boosters. But there Is no city, town, hamlet or neighbor hood, no matter how live and progres sive it is, that has no knockers. AND DON'T YOU be forgetting about Letter Writing Week, either. POWER CO.
