Mr. and Mrs. Mullen Visit Mr and Mrs. Ted Mullen, w ho re cently m arried in Seattle, surprised their parents with a visit last Sunday, m otoring over with the bride's father, Mr Crawford. Binford gave the invocation; Mrs. Cora Franklin read a paper on Lincoln; Rev. H Leo Johnston delivered an address of Frederick D ouglass; Rev. E. C. Peterson, 242 E. 53rd street, in their regular sem i m onthly missionary meeting. Mrs. Cannady discussed the Race problem in America. She told of the wonderful progress of the Race though handi capped, and pleaded for a better under standing between racial groups by con tact and cooperation, urging the reality of religion as taught by Christ. Miss Shaw sang several groups of N egro Spirituals, and other classics. Both were very cordially and heartily received. Glenn Frank, editor of Century Magazine, declared W ednesday in an address on "Race, Religion and Radicalism " before the League for Political Education at Town Hall. “T here is no question,” he said, “that there is inequality am ong individuals. The fram ers of the Federal C onstitu tion, most of whom were slave owners, could not have believed in the literal tru th of their doctrine of all men being equal. W hat they really m eant was that they them selves and their kind were the equal of George the Third. But as to which races are superior, biological research has as yet proved nothing. “ Even if science should prove that some races are superior, there are al ways certain superior individuals in all races who will resent oppression and lead the world into a succession of blcxwV wars. Let the superior A m eri cans not make comm on cause -vith the dolts of their own race, but rather join with the elite of other races to s’amp out present-day evils.
