The ranchers are all htisv with spring plow ing and seedinir while the locators have been overrun with homesteaders and people looking for btiisness chances. a. Con sidering the difficulty of obtaining suitable stage settings and the long distance many had to come to practice, the plav was a remarkalbe success. The sinpinp was excellent and the scenes from homestead life and the lo cal hits were amusing and entertaining The play was given at Silver Lake on the following Friday. The proceeds from both performances amounted to $0 which will be a fine start towards a lihrary fund. C. W. Rice has just completed a seven-room house for Mrs. Mary Pierce. This is one of the most com plete houses in this section. The Fort Rock Debating Society held a Jts regular meeting Friday. March 31. ! A very interestin g debate on the popu lar election of senators w;is held. Mr. Wilson, the present editor of the "Fort Ro' k GoHsiper," read a very newsy and entertaining paper. The question of (dosing the society was discussed, but it was decided to try to have a month ly meeting during the summer. I Miss Grace Irvine left l.mt week to spend the summer with her mother in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. ! R. Noel. L. B. Charles, II. h. Cu- ! naan and R.
