The idea used in making tiiis upron workbag was taken from the land of the czars, where all the women in every station of life are expert work ers Ip embroidery. The apron illustrat ed is made of one yard of silk, but MATERIALS REQI'IREDl Two yards of india linen or Three yards of silk of pongee. Five yards of inch wide ribbon. Embroidery silks. TUB LAO CLOaLD. pretty cietoutie is an excellent mate tiiil to use. Divide the yard into three parts, two of which form the bag and the other third the uprou. and marl, carefully. I fern one end, then fold over at the two-thirds mark nnil run a tuci; along this line the same depth as the hem. Be careful not to do It ou the sa::ie side as the end hem. as this forms the other side of the bag, through which the ribbon Is run to draw up tin bag when not in use. Hern the apron portion the same Bide as the tuck. Embroider the front of th' bag as Illustrated or work the ini tiiils of the prospective owner, .loin up THE LAO OI'KiiLD the sides, run a ribbon through from each end which draws the bag up, then run a ribbon through the waist part. Becky Sharp Needlebookt. Quaint an 1 pretty are the Becky Sharp needlebooks, completed at so little trouble, too, that they are well worth describing. The ties are of ribbon, and at this stage very fine lace edged doilies the size of the needlebook are sewed invisibly to the outer parts of the covers.
