Oregon Completes Short Fire Season The Avenue By Lton Mofiatt ; i Fishing season got off to a chilly start here Saturday, but there were many fishermen in the area braving the chill air to catch the wily trout. Some reported pretty good luck, and quite a few fish were taken from under the bridge in Mill City. Necessity is the mother of in vention so they say, and one fisherman I talked to Saturday had a ¡4ar\ tar keeping warm that I bejlevc should be passed on to other fishermen 1711« man said he filled a large bucket half full of rocks and sand, then used charcoal briquets as a heater in the boat. He and his companion kept quite comfort able this way. He says the bri quets cause no smoke and not many fumes. Santiam won a track meet from Cascade Tuesday, 69-53.
