Support prices coupled with local rains and midwest drouth have com bined to put strength into barley and oats market this fall. But even if supports are available in 1955, Oregon prices will likely be somewhat lower ♦han this fall. Odds favor large carry-over and large crops of these grains next year. The state’s hay supply, according to current estimates, is about five percent smaller than a year earlier but about the same as in 1952. With more livestock to feed, hay prices seem likely to be a little higher this I winter than last. This market strength ' will likely extend into the summer al though good pastures and an open winter could change the picture again.
