The Christmas party of the North | Santiam Willing Workers cluB was held this year at the Marion Forks I lodge with Mrs. Scott Young and Mrs. Vern Morgan, hostesses. This party was also for the ladies who had had . birthdays the last six months of the j year. There was a gift exchange ' ' among the children as well as the I members. Mrs. Mildred Greer and Mrs. Bingham were guests, Mrs. | Greer joining the club. Mrs. Morgan ■made a lovely cake with the name of each who had had a birthday the past | six months on it. Games were the entertainment of the day. The Boy Scouts had their Christ- I mas party with a gift exchange in the Eagle hall Monday night with 18 Scouts in attendance. Assistant Scoutmaster Albert Snyder was in charge. Parents present were Ray Sophy, Lee Hopson, Mrs. Wayne Woodward and daughter Arlene and son Roland and Mrs. A. R. Snyder. The Scouts played games and sang Christmas carols and songs with Mrs. Woodward at the piano. Refresh ments of cake, ice cream, cocoa and coffee were served. Keiser was thrown off and under the tractor. He was engaged in hauling wood with the tractor and trailer. As he was crossing the highway with a load, a car coming from the upper valley failed to stop before hitting the tractor broadside. The accident occured just east of the city limits, in front of the Keiser home, where a straight-of-way ex tends in both directions with unob structed view.
