One of the jurors of the Marple mur der ease, who found the defendant guil ty of murder in the first degree and then recommended him to the merev of the court, is a guest of Chief Parris. His name is John Flynn, of Dundee Yam hill county, and was arrested on the street this noon for drunkenness. He occupies space in the city prison befit, ting his station. The above item appeared in the Port land Telegram of a recent date, and is an illustration of the petty jealousy en tertained against this county by the Portland papers. The item is a plain falsehood Irom beginning to end. No such man as John Flynn sat on the jury that convicted Marple of the murder of old man Corker, and the Telegram know.s it, or ought to no it. If the Telegram man had perused the columns of his shining light, the Oregonian, he would have found the names of the jury. For the benefit if such ignoramuses and for fear some honest people might be lieve the statement we will republish the names of the jury.
