Statue of Will Rogers in Canada Guido B. de Vail, sculptor from New York, Paris, and London, who has just completed in Ottawa, Ontario, a statue of Will Rogers, the great American humorist, which will be cast in bronze. The statue shows Will Rogers sitting on top of the world, is 15 feet high, and took six months to make. Cause of Blood Rains Blood rains are ra in s which have a pinkish tinge, as though actually diluted blood. When allowed to stand in a container, such rain de posits a reddish m ud. Every few years blood rains occur in Italy. Their cause is reddish dust from the Sahara, as wai first proved by the German biologist Christian Ehren- berg in 1847. Storms lift the red dish dust from the desert and blow it northward across the Mediterran ean to be washed down by rains in Europe.
