HOOD RIVER GLACIER, THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, Î925 The W. C. T. U. will meet at the home of Mrs. Forcier next Tuesday Last week through an oversight We emitted mention of the annual alum ni banquet and dance of Saturday night following Christmas Tbe ban quet of delicious and satisfying food was surved by Mrs. Boles and dangb- tera at Odell hotel. The dance was ¿ven in Odell grange hall. Both were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by those who were present. The evergreens placed as a setting for the Laraway-Haya wedding were left over Sunday and those who at tended church servil-es found them selves, as It were, in a spot surround ed by a forest, an effect most beautl- ful. The church Is peculiarly adapt ed to this form of decoration and this wedding we are assured was especially beautiful. Doubtless a com plete account by one who was there will appear in this week’s Glacier. Rar. G. E. Heineck, former pastor of Ptoe Grove and Odell, was the oM- cictlng minister. This was the third wedding solemnised In this church; the first, the dark Jakku wedding of four years ago last November, and the two weddings of recent date. J. M. Nickerson stopped over for a short visit with his son, B. H. Nick- ereit^. Mr. Nickerson, Sr., Is return ing to his home in Massachusetts, | after haviqg spent several months In the Northwest. PINE GROVE The Odell church was the scene of — another pretty wedding Wednesday afternoon of last week when Adah Maurlne Laraway and Robert Morris Hays were united in marriage. Tbe church was beautifully decorated with fir trees and wreaths and - gar lands of fir. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. C. H. Bletton sang, “O Promise Ms.” The wedding — * party entered to rains of Mendelssohn's wedding march played by MI hh Alice Tomkina. Mira Orletta Ruth Heineck, of Salem, Wta bridesmaid and Hubert ‘■Hao- hrouck attended the groom. The bride was charming in white char- meuse trimmed with lace, a dainty veil and carried an armful of pink roses, She was given away by her father, P. B. Laraway. The cere- mony was performed by Rev. Geo. Heineck. of Salem, using the wedding ring which had been worn H by tbe bride’s mother. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held in the church and dainty refreshments were served by Mrs. Clare Bickford, Mrs. Don Mc Leod. Mrs. J. A. Fletcher, Mrs. F. H. Blackman, Mrs. V. Thomsen. Dorothy, Eleanor and Ruth House, Mrs. W. O. Mills, Miss Ferrin, Miss Bickford and Mira Turney. Mira Mareta Moore, who has been spending the holidays with her grand mother at Clackamas, returned home Saturday night. Miss Ethel Bickford returned to her school in Marshfield last week. Mr. and Mrs. Stacey McDonald, who had been visiting Mr. McDon ald's parents, Mr. and Mrs. 8. R. Me Donald, left for their home at Eu- reka, Calif., Saturday.
