Council Cits Police Force To practice economy during the win ter months, the police force of the city waa decreased by one member by the council in session Monday night. NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that pursu ant to an order of the County Court of Hood River County, Oregon, duly made and entered, the said County Court will on the 4th day of Decem ber, 1915, at the hour of 10 o'clock a. m. of said day, in the County Court room in the City of Hood River, Ore gon, receive sealed bids for the con struction of one eleven (11) span frame trestle bridge aeross Collins Creek in the Southwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 31, Township 2 North, Range 10 East of the W. M., in Hood River County, Oregon, in accordance with the prin cipal and alternate plan provided for in the plans and specifications for said improvement now on file with the County Clerk of said County, which for more definite information may be seen and examined by Pro-, spective bidders. Bids must be made on both princi pal and alternate plans separately for consideration of the Court, and said improvement will be made under the supervision of the County Road- master of said County. Each bid der will be required to deposit with his bid, a certified, check in favor of said County for five J5) per cent of the amount of said bid, which will be forfeited to the County in case the award is made to such bidder and he fails, neglects or refuses for a period of five (5) days after such award is made, to enter into the contracts and file his bond in a sum equal to not less than 50 per cent of the con tract price, conditioned that the con tractor shall well and truly in a man ner satisfactory to the County Court, and in accordance ' with the said plans and specifications, complete the work coutracted for and save the Countyharmless from all expense in curred to complete the work within the time hereinafter mentioned. That be will make the payments promptly to all persons supplying said con tractor with labor and materials for the prosecution of said work; said Improvement shall be completed within thirty (30) working days from the date of the award of the contract, which contract will be let and enter ed Into with the successful bidder on or before the 6th day after the date herein set for the reception of bids.
