And for this reason we predict success for her efforts tonight. Tbe Parent-Teacher Association will meet again Friday evening at the high school. The speaker of the evening will be Mrs. McMath, president of the Oregon Mothers Congress. This meet ing promises to be as interesting as any held so far this year, so all are re quested to be present. And then, think of it, there will be no school from 3.15 p. m. November 19, to 9 a. m. November 29. Because, during the first three days of next week there will be teachers' Institute. Then Thursday, of course, is Turkey Day, leaving Friday to be given as a holiday to tbe students. On Thursday of last week was held a very important meeting, the basketball conference. Goldendale, which was ad mitted to the league last year, was represented by Stapleton; The Dalles, by Gronewall; White Salmon sent no representative: Stevenson by Detwil ler, and Hood Kiver, by Cohoon. Mr. Detwiller was elected president; Mr. Gronewall, vice president, and Jack Stanton, secretary - treasurer. This meeting lasted between four and five hours and there was certainty a great deal accomplished. The requirements this year, to play in the league, will allow no post gradu ate. No player over 21 years of age. No player wf 11 be allowed to play bas ketball in this league who has attended a higher institute of learning. No player will be allowed to play who has been on the team representing his school four years or more. Then last, but not least, a player must take at least three subjects in the school he is representing, and be must maintain an average of 75 per cent in each of them. The schedule aa outlined at the con ference permits each team to play eight games. Following is the schedule: Goldendale at The Dalles, Dec. 17; Hood River at White Salmon, Dec. 17; White Salmon at Stevenson Jan. 7; The Dallea at Goldendale, Jan. 7; Gol dendale at White Salmon, Jan. 14: Gol dendale at Stevenson, Jan. 15; White Salmon vs. Hood River at The Dalles, Jan. 15. : White Salmon at The Dalles. ' Since Hood Kiver has only nail a place to practice in, and no place to play game, there will be no league games played here. ' Don't forget the fireman game on Turkey Day. All of you who have been giving such excuses for these other games will be given no pardon if you don't come out. For remember, even if you don't want to help out the high school, you should try to help the ttremen. Mt. Hood Company Installs Scales The Mount Hood Railway Co.
