Owing to tba nature of ber malady It was known for so ins days previous that ber life was drawing to a close, yet tbe end found tbe sorrow ing busband and children bardly pre pared for tbe end. She bad been a patient sufferer foi several months. having submitted to two operations In tbe endeavor to arrest tba disease. yet she bad borne tbe suffering pa tiently, and to the last was resigned and prepared to meet ber God. lbe funeral was beld at tbe resi dence Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and a large number of friends and neighbors from every walk In life were theie to pay their last respects. Tba Moral offerings were beautiful and In profusion, especial pieces being sent by societies ot which tba deceased was a member, as well aa individual pieces from dear frienda. Tbe sermon was preaobed by Kev. J. K. farker. of tbe United Bietbieu church, tak ing bis text from tbe 14th chapter ot St. John. Two hymns selected by tbe deceased before ber death were sung by Mrs Sletten and Mist Fay Orr. She resided in Minnesota until 1888, when, with her husband and family, she came to Portland, Oregon, and tbenoe tbe following spring to Hood River, where she nas since resided continuously. Sbe leaves three sons, L. N., 8. M. and A. 8. Blowers, Jr., and Bve daugh ters, Mrs. May Yates, Mrs. Edith harly, Mia. Minnie Niokelsen, Mrs. Eva Haynes and Mrs. Blanche Sheets, besides one brother in Illinois and one brother and a sister in Minne sota. Sbe was a member of tbe W. R. C. and order ot Easter titer. A pio neer woman, reared in the bard school that mokes genuine men and women. a self-sacrificing and patient mother who lived ber religion dally and who leaves behind tbe record of a wall spent life. Joint Celebration. On tbe 4th of July tbe members of Paik Grange invite tbe people of Hood River Valley to join with them in an up-to-date oelebration in their park.
