(UPD The infectious joy of Caroline and John Kennedy at Christmas time brought happiness to the mourning wife of the late Presi dent. For one of the few times since the death of her husband Mrs. John F. Kennedy acknow ledged the greetings of a crowd of about 150 well-wishers who gathered outside the ocean-front mansion of her father-in-law, former Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy. She smiled and waved a white-gloved hand Wednesday as she entered a car to travel the two miles to the estate where she is staying with her two chu rl: on. The first Christmas for the Kennedy family without the as sassinated President was a quiet one presents were opened, then church and then a family dinner. Caroline, 6 and three-year-old "John John" were up early and ' dived into a huge pile of gifts with the well-known Kennedy exuberance. Mrs. Kennedy looked on and occasionally gave John Jr. a helping hand with a tightly wrapped package he couldn't open fast enough. John, who apparently inherit ed his father's fondness for the Navy, got a toy boat. A family spokesman said the youngster also got a helicopter and some airplanes. Ills sister received several dolls and "girl's toys." The children, caught up in the excitement of their pres ents, were allowed to remain at home while Mrs. Kennedy drove to the nearby residence of her father-in-law for a private mid day Mass. Man, 83, Weds 19-Year-0ld Girl DENVER (UPI) - Earl L. Mcdsker was honeymooning at home today with his new bride. Medskcr is B:i. His hridc, the former Gwendolyn Davis of Baker, Fin., is lit. The couple was ntnrried in Mcdskcr's home on Christmas Kvc by Justice of the Peace Harry Wall Jr. of suburban Adams City, then spent Christ mas Day cnlorUrinine auesls. "The marriage might seem silly to some people, nut II makes sense to us." said Mcd sker, who had four children before being divorced from his first wife 30 years ago. lie has 12 grandchildren. "We bolh know people can have the wrong idea about this marriage," he said, "But summed up, it is companion ship and business." He said the business elements of his life were getting loo hard to handle. "I need someone I can trust and who has the know-how," he sniil, gny.ing fondly at his new wife. Mcdsker is In the real estate and tax title business, and says he has done pretty well. "In fact, I've set up a $I(K),(KK) fund to educate the Medskcr chil dren," ho said. The founda tion guarantees a college educa tion for all his descendants. "This is where Owendolyn comes in," he said. "She's got a good grasp of what the edu cational foundation means. She thinks it's a wonderful pro gram and it has had a lot to do with our marriage. "1 haven't had too much bus- I n e s s experience yet," his bride tossed in, "but I'm at traded to the work involved." The Mcdskcrs decided to spend their honeymoon at home. "There's loo much work to do," the groom explained.
