IK) D 9 Miss North Elected To Office Miss Linda North was elected queen of Bethel 69, International Order of Job's Daughters, dur ing a recent bethel meeting. Scottish Rite Masons, and par ents of bethel members were invited guests. Miss Charlotte Martin is re tiring queen. Miss Karen Smith was elected senior princess; Miss Christie Ayres, junior princess; Miss Sue Ccarlcy, guide and Miss Shirley Isaacs, marshal. Escorted and honored were Fred Purdin, thirty-third degree Mason; Roger Westcrfield, mas ter of Scottish Kite Masons; Miss Denna Taylor, past bethel queen; Mrs. John North, past bethel guardian; Wallace Eri, past associate bethel guardian and Fred Lue. Introduced were Mrs. Carl El hart, past grand guardian and L. R. Manning, past associate grand guardian. A bethel Christmas party and gift exchange were announced for Monday, December 16, at 7:30 p.m. Installation Set Installation ceremonies are scheduled for Sunday, January 5, at 2:30 p.m., in the Medford Masonic Temple, 218 West Main Street. Bethel 69 members were ex tended an invitation to attend a Christmas party at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Bethel 55 members, the event also to be in the Masonic Temple. Miss Linda Walker, librarian, read "What Bethel Means To Me," by L. Hoyt. JACKSON ACRES OF FREE PARKING I Teachers Attend Meet Jack Bailey, a teacher al How rd School and Mrs. Maxine Smith of the Medford Hioh School teaching staff attended an uregon Education Association representative council in the Portland State Student Center last week. Some 200 teachers from throughout the state were at the session. Mr. Bailey attended as a rep resentative of the Medford Teachers Association. Mrs. Smith nominated Miss Beulah Elliott for president-elect, to which she was named. The group voted to support any sales tax measure. They drew up a resolution to he re ferred to the National Educa tion Association convention in Seattle next summer, the reso lution strengthening the OEA's stand on desegregation. Delegates from the Future Teachers of America reauested the group to try to obtain legis lation for five years of college for elementary teachers, in creasing subject matter fields, A water-proof finish requires thorough rinsing because any suds left in the fabric will re duce the efficiency of the treatment. Dickenson and Mrs. Roy Cam eron were honored during a Christmas luncheon of Gold Hill Unit in observance of December birthday anniversaries. The par ty was held at Rogue Riviera Dining Inn and 26 guests at tended. Mrs. Ted Schoenemann an nounced that $95 had been turned in by Gold Hill residents to date for Christmas Seals re ceived In the mail. About 600 letters for this purpose were prepared by unit members dur ing the November meeting. It was reported that members of the group had assisted with raising contributions for the Heart Fund. The next unit meeting will be held in the home of Mrs. E. C. Hoffman, Tuesday, January 7, at 1 p.m. Mrs. Walter Suth erland will be cohostcss. The club meets each week on Wednesday at 11 a. m., and luncheon is served at 12 noon.
