OREGON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15, 19H3 Herb Group To Install Officers of the Rogue Valley Herb Society will be in stalled Tuesday, December 17 and past presidents of the organization will be honored during the meet ing when the society's annual Christmas party and gift ex change also will be conducted. The event will open at 1:30 p.m., and will be held in the Girls Community Club. A demonstration on making herb wreaths and swags will be given by Mrs. Charles Ray and Mrs. R. D. Abel. Roll call will be answered by ways to use holly and mistletoe. A grab bag will be on the pro gram. A special hot herb tea will be served with other herb teas by Mrs. George Dean, and Mrs. William Baker, Roseburg. Cookies are to be furnished by the members. At the last society meeting Mrs. Lorraine Snyder, San Di mas, Calif., was a guest. Mrs. Sid Hansen gave a re view on lovage and parsley and Mrs. Elsa Walker talked on lemon mint. Mrs. Charles Mc Farlan and Mrs. Dale Hoover, both Ashland, served as hostess- The construction of a kitchen knife indicates quality. The bet ter knives will have the blade extended half or the full length of the handle and will be fas tened with two or three good sized rivets. Roohr, Route 3, Box 51, Medford, in a ceremony at Sa cred Heart Catholic Church. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Stearns, 2958 Free land Road, Central Point. The Rev. Gilbert Lulay offici ated at the noon wedding and nuptial mass attended by 75 guests. White and blue chrys anthemums decorated the altar for the November 30 rites. The bride wore a floor length dress of Chantilly lace accented with iridescent sequins and seed pearls. Her elbow length veil was held by a white satin pillbox and she carried a white cattlcya orchid encircled by lilies of the valley and blue satin leaves. Her father escorted her to the altar. Mrs. Daniel Hargis, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bride. She wore a blue chiffon frock with lace jacket and a blue crown with pearls. She carried blue asters and white chrysan themums. Brother Best Man Daniel Hargis served as best man for his brother-in-law. Ed ward Welch, Route 1, Box 1, Jacksonville, cousin of the bride, and Jeffery Hardrath, cousin of the bridegroom, seated t h e guests. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed at North's Chuck Wagon, M r s. Steams wore a gold wool suit with brown accessories. Mrs. Roohr chose an avocado and white three piece suit with brown accessories. They both wore brown and green orchid corsages. At the reception Mrs. Edward Welch, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake. Miss Deborah Hardrath, cousin of the bridegroom, presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Harry Fitzpat rick poured coffee and served the bridegroom's cake, and Miss Patricia Stearns, sister of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Also assisting was Mrs. Tom Winniford. The bride attended Medford High School and is a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company. Mr. Roohr attended St. Mary's High School and is employed by Tim ber Products Company. For traveling the bride wore a blue wool sheath dress with black accessories. The newlyweds are making their home at 210 South Colum bus Avenue. The evening prior to the wed ding Mr. and Mrs. Roohr were hosts for a dinner at their home following the wedding rehearsal. Twenty-one guests attended. Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding and re- ception were Mr. and Mrs. Jo seph Beyerl, Veneta, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. R. Civil Defense Films Slated; Party Planned Jack Larson will show films of civil defense and the junior air cadets, at the Tuesday, De cember 17, meeting of Crater Lake Post, Veterans of Foreign wars and Auxiliary. The meeting will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 42 North Front Street. The post will hold a short business meeting following the program. Entertainment and re freshments are planned by the auxiliary. The annual Christmas party of the group will be held Sun day, December 22, at the hall at 2 p.m. Members of the post and auxiliary and their families are invited to attend. A Christmas tree with Santa and gifts and candy for the children will be included in the after noon's events. Refreshments will be served. The tree will be decorated the evening of Friday, December 20. Members are to meet at 7:30 p.m. and bags of candy and fruit will be filled at the same time. Reames Club Slates Music Mrs. R. G. Snider, Ashland, will sing songs of the Christ mas season during the luncheon meeting of Reames Social Club Wednesday, December 18 at 12 noon in the Medford Masonic Temple. Members whose birthdays are in the last quarter of the year will be honored. Mrs. William Hatzi, president, will preside for the business meeting. Mrs. H. L. Nulton is chair man for the event, assisted by Mrs. Cole Holmes, Mrs. Dale Sawyer, Mrs. Ernest Price and Mrs. Ray Bailey. All interested members of Or der of the Eastern Star are invited.
