Canning Jr. were I guests attended the ceremony married November 23 in 10 o'clock evening rites read in Park Wedding Chapel, Reno, Nev. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .lay Allen, 383 Holmes Street, Mcdford, and the bridegroom's parents, are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Canning, Nampa, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Don Deisch at tended the couple. For her marriage the bride wore a blue dress wilh match ing slippers and a headdress o( white flowers held her veil. The wedding dinner given by the bride's parents was served and dinner. The couple made their wed ding trip to Nampa, Ida., where they visited the bridegroom's parents. They now live at 811 West Tenth Street, Mcdford. The bride attended MeLough lin Junior High School, Medford High School and Southern Ore gon College for one year. She is a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell. The bridegroom, who has served in the Army, is employed at Cascade Wood Products Com pany. Elected to serve with Miss Watson were the Misses Judy Frost, senior princess; Marilyn Learning, junior princess; Tan ya Bedingfield, guide and Susan Wilson, marshal. Installation of the new offi cers will be held at 2 p.m. Sun day, January 12, at the Eagle Point Primary school gymna sium, Eagle Point. The public is welcome to attend. The Misses Debbie Wilson, Cheryl Hefley, Janet Hatcher and Lynn Bedingfield were pre sented with proficiency certif icates. Secret dads dcvclation night will be held Thursday, Decem ber 19 at the VFW Hall in Shady Cove. A dinner for the secret dads, their wives and families, Bethel members and families will be held at 7 p.m. followed by a Christmas party. Refreshments were served by the Misses Donna Wcitman and Nanette Koellncr and their mothers at the last meeting. Foreign Students To Marry ASHLAND Invitations were issued this week by Miss Lois May for the marriage of Miss Priscilla Mbuvi to William Senga on Saturday, December 21, at 8 p.m. in the First Pres byterian church. The two Southern Oregon col lege students are both natives of Kenya and were among some 1,500 on this country who re ceived greetings from the new nation's leader, Joma Kcnyatta, upon formal declaration of Ken ya's independence. Upon completion of their col lege education the young couple , expect to return to Atrica. Mr. ! Senga, an economics major, ; plans to follow a diplomatic ca-1 roer. Miss Mbuvi hopes to be a social science teacher. Since arriving in Ashland two-and-a-half years ago Miss Mbuvi has made her home with Miss Mav. 564 South Mountain Ave nue. Miss May, a teacher in j Walker elementary school, is president of the Ashland branch, American Association of Uni versity Women, the organization which has given assistance to the Kenya student. Other groups have been interested in Miss Mbuvi and have helped during her course at SOC. FOE Auxiliary Plans Party Games and refreshments are planned for the Christmas party to be given by the auxiliary to the Crater Lake Aerie, Frater nal Order of Eagles Thursday evening, December 19. All are to take wrapped gifts for an exchange. Engagement j News Received News of interest here is the engagement of Miss Gari Ann Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Hughes, Orinda, Calif., and Leonard John Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie C. Pierce, Pierce Heights, Med ford. . The news was made known re cently by the traditional pass ing of candy at the bride-elect's sorority house. Sigma Kappa, at San Jose State Colcge. Both Miss Hughes and her fiance formerly attended Whit worth College. He is affiliated with Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Willamette University where he is now a student. The wedding date has been set for August 17.
