By Hammond Organ. Diamond Jewelry Popular Gift Item Women have an affinity for diamond jewelry, especially at Christmas. Of all the jewelry forms, pins are the most prac tical and "safe" Sift choices because they are adaptable to most apparel. The classic gold pin lavished with a diamond spark keep company with all ages: on the wool suit of a college girl, on her mother's velvet cocktail hat, or on grandmother's' silky holi day dress. - ' Best-liked designs for pins are nature forms, leaves, flowers, birds and even butterflies. Gold leaf pins with engraved veins emerging from diamond tipped stems look freshly fallen. Half blown buds and floral iprays come in realistic or stylized ver sions. Solitary sunburst pins are studies In contrast, with alter nating petals of polished and Florentine-finished gold. Fre-form and abstract pin designs, dramatized with; dia monds, are reminiscent of fam . nus sculptures and paintings. Earrings come in designs to match pins to complete the jeweled ensemble. Necklace clasps are an un usual fashion jewel gift. For the woman who wears a favo rile necklace, there are clusters of pearls and diamonds nestled on the topside of a clasp in sev eral designs.
