Couple to U. and Mrs. Ted Edward De Ford left for their new home in Wichita Falls, Tex.,, following their marriage and the wedding reception September 27 in Med ford First Presbyterian church. The bride, who was Miss Gret chen Valerie Meier before her marriage is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hanns Meier, 545 Lo ziT lane. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ted DeFord, 2533 Sandy terrace. Dr. D. Kirkland West offici ated for' the 8 o'clock double ring ceremony witnessed by some 200 guests. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of lace and silk organza over peau de soie. The fitted lace bodice was fash ioned with three-quarter length sleeves and square neckline. The slim skirt was designed with a flared chapel train ac cented with lace appliques. Ted Edward DcFord (Landis photo) Live in bouffant shoulder length veil was held by a crown of pearls and lace and she carried a bou quet of white orchids with white roses. Her pearl necklace was a gift from a cousin in Singa pore. Frocks Are Rose Miss Kathi Uridel was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were the Misses Jeri Myers, Menlo Park, Calif., Shirley Don ahoo, Teresa Six, Teresa Thom as, and Joy Guidry, a cousin of the bride. The attendants' gowns and headpieces with veils were rose colored. Their frocks were of peau de soie with jackets, and back panels trimmed with white rose appliques covered with rose colored organza. Single satin Dior roses held their net veils and they carried white spider chrysanthemum nose gays, which matched their white slippers. Jannice Guidry and Carol Mit- Phone 772-8992 Texas chell, who lighted the candles, wore frocks of gold brocade and their wristlets were of white chrysanthemums. Both are cousins of the bride. Douglas Meier, Whidby Is land, Wash., a brother of the bride, was best man. Duane Tresham, a cousin of the bride groom, LeRoy Clay, James Thomas, Marc Prentice, a cous in of the bride, and Roy Schroe dcr were ushers. White gladioli with white chry santhemums decorated the church. The reception, given by the bride's parents in the church Fellowship hall, was attended by about 100 guests. The reception table was decorated with pink chrysanthemums and miniature white daisies. The bride's mother was gown ed in cocoa brown chiffon and her corsage was a green orchid. The bridegroom's mother chose a blue crepe frock. Her corsage was a white orchid. Several classmates of the bride from the University of Oregon were among the guests, including the Misses Mary Ann Vukasin, Barbara Powell, Fran ces Huntington, Linda Lee, Christa Christesen and Barbara Earl. Others from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holzgang, aunt and uncle of the bride, Bonneville, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tresham, cousins of the bridegroom, Areata, Calif. The couple planned to travel by way of San Francisco, and Dallas, Texas., en route to Wich ita Falls, where the bridegroom, a second lieutenant in the Air Force is stationed at the Offi cers Training school. The bride wore a white knit sheath dress with floral embroidery, a blue mohair coat and accessories. Both the bride and bridegroom are Medford High school gradu ates and attended the Univer sity of Oregon, where the bride groom was graduated. Mrs. Jack Six and daughter, Theresa and Mrs. Arthur Uridel and daughter, Kathi, were hos tesses for a linen and kitchen shower which honored the bride before her wedding. Also hos tesses for a shower were Mrs. George Millian and Mrs. Rich ard Niedermeyer. Chapter Plans Model Meeting A model meeting for Alpha Rho chapter, Beta Sigma Phi sorority will be conducted Tues day, October S in the home of Mrs. Wayne Harris, 151B South Ivy street. Mrs. Joe McCalvy will assist the hostess. Also planned is a Hollnwcen party for members and rushees and their husbands. The event will be held late this month in the home of Mrs. Kenneth Cur tis. The group opened their fall rushing season October 1 when a waffle dinner was served in the home of Mrs. Emil Knutson, 149 Winema way. Rushees included Mrs. Wayne Hunter, Mrs. John Dies. Mrs. Wayne Chitwood, Mrs. Thomas Hanke, Mrs. Dennis Becker, Mrs. Lee Hobbs, Mrs. Dennis Faulkner, Mrs. Roger Schildt and Mrs. Gregory Gill. Leave Mrs. Edward D8vies and small daughter, Sandra, return ed to their home in San Fran Cisco Wednesday evening by plane after spending 10 days here with Mrs. Davies' mother, Mrs. Mary Note, 32 Hamilton street. Ceremony At Home Weds Pair SHADY COVE - Miss Shirley Louise Andre became the bride of Joe Ben Zehner Jr., in 9 o'clock evening rites read Oc tober 2 in the Shady Cove home in which the newly wedded couple will live. The Rev. D E. Millard officiated. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert M Andre Sr., Williams lane. Shady Cove, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ben Zehner, Route 4, Box 430ii, Medford. For her wedding the bride wore a royal blue suit with black accessories and her cor sage was of pink tea roses. Her father gave her in marriage. The bride was unattended and Frank Bahr, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. Twelve guests witnessed the ceremony. A reception followed the cere mony. The bride and bride groom made the first cut of the wedding cake and Mrs. Kenneth Burnett continued the serving. Coffee was poured by Mrs. Frank Bahr, a sister of the bridegroom and Miss Joan Bur nett had charge of the bride's book. 1 The bride attended Shady Cove schools and is a 1957 graduate of Eagle Point High school. The bridegroom was graduated in 1959 from Grange ville, Ida., High school. He is employed in construction work. Miss Shirley Ann Walker November Date Set by Pair TALENT Mr. and Mrs. Les ter C. The wedding date has been set for November 30. Triple Christening Held A triple christening ceremony was held Sunday, September 29, at St. Mark's Episcopal church. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster, rector of St. Mark's church, of ficiated at the rites for Claire Alcne and Margaret Ann, daugh ters of Mr. and Mrs. James Drew Coleman, and Brian Ar thur, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. Monroe, Palo Alto, Calif. Mrs. Coleman is the former Verdell Schwedler, Portland, and Mrs. Monroe is the former Carole Coleman of Medford. Grandparents of the three in fants present were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schwedler, Port land, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Coleman, 112 Greenway circle, Medford. Godparents of the Coleman's two daughters are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Schwedler and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coleman. The Rev. Gerald Nelson performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Bau m, 2168 Crestbrook road, are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hogue, 2209 Hill crest road. Miss Diane Bush served as the bride's honor attendant and Mrs. Max Gillespie was brides matron. Lisa Vance, a neice of the bridegroom, was the flower girl. Mr. Baucom escorted h 1 s daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride's floor length gown of peau d'ange and lace over taffeta was styled with basque bodice and Sabrina neckline outlined in pearls and Iridescent sequins. The full skirt was tiered with lace rumes and tne inree' quarter length overskirt of bou quet taffeta was picked up at the. sides witn sen material bows. The lace edged overskirt was trimmed with lace appli ques. Her tiered veil of hand rolled silk illusion was held by a queen's crown of Alencon lace and pearls with an inner crown of crystals and pearl drops. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis. Attendants Wear Pink The attendants wore sheath dresses in identical style, of azalea pink peau de twille. The bodices were in princess design and the detachable overskirts were made with controlled full- Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mattson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pettey. Mrs. Mattson is the former Sharon Hogan. Margaret Ann Coleman wore a christening robe made by her great-grandmother, Mrs. Anna Storgard, who was unable to at tend the ceremony. The gown was originally made for the christening of Carol Coleman Monroe. Guests attending the ceremony included Mrs. Helen Schwedler, great-grandmother of Claire and Margaret Coleman; Mrs. L. P. Schmidt, Mrs. Frank Bryan, and Mrs. George Beardsley, all great aunts; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bryan and Miss Mi chelle Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. Lawerence Clark, Miss Virginia Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lock wood, George Beardsley and Frank Bryan. Reception Held About 200 guests were at the ceremony and some 150 attend ed the reception given by the bride's parents In the church rooms.
