V f3"4 : r -v Chosen 1963 "Beep of the Week" by Medford Business and Professional Women's club is Miss Gladys Durrand, a past president of the club and supervisor of 14 elementary schools for District 549C. Miss Durrand will be introduced at a breakfast this morning which opens the annual observance of National Business Women's week by the Medford club, and will be honored at a series of other events throughout the week. The honored woman, a native Oregonian, came to Medford from Coos Bay where she was an elementary school principal and teacher in the school system. She began her teaching career in a one-room school at Merchants Beach near Bandon. Mrs. Warner is shown putting last minute touches on the speak ers' table bouquet which was of white gladiolus with a few sprays of the new va riety called green ice. Mrs. Wilda Stewart (at left), 4219 Colver road, li the new president of the group and Mrs. Effie Bogart, 245 North Oakdale avenue. Is state ' treasurer. Also serving Miss Josephine Koppea who was appointed corresponding secretary to work with Mrs. Stewart. Election took place during the annual state convention and the women take office In Jan uary. The Medford women are members of the Jack son County Medical Assistants association; there ire also chapters in Lane, Linn, Multnomah and Marion counties. Rogue River Valley Knife and Fork club hat 12 new members this year, and among these are Dr. and Mrs. Ralph D.
