His warning was proved out. Medford had to rise up and throw back two strong bids by the Capital city club before win ning 20 to 0. That was the closest margin in the history of the rivalry. The Whirlwind won 39 to 6 and 42 to 6 in 1959, 35 to 6 in 1960 and 34 to 0 in 1961. Spiegelberg reported yester day that the Black Tornado Servicemen OX USS KEARSARGE William D. Deckard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Deckard, 904 Summit St., Medford, is serving aboard the antisubma rine aircraft carrier USS Kear sarge which recently spent sev eral days in Kahodate. a small Japanese port rarely visited by U.S. ships. Baker, Medford, is now on duty with a United States Air Force advisory unit assisting the armed forces of Viet Nam. Baker, an air passenger spec ialist, and other USAF person nel train and assist Vietnamese Air Force personnel in various technical specialties necessary for maintaining modern mili tary units. He is a graduate of Medford High school, and is married to the former Dolores A. Gomes of Medford. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul G. Schantol, 1910 N E 66th St., Portland. The Saxons use an offense similar to North Salem's. It's been called a split end wing T. An end is split one way and flanks the opposite. South Salem has good overall team speed.
