A JOKE EVE SAN6 THIS LAMENT Charges Dismissed Against Suspects PORTLAND (UPI) - Armed robbery chaiKcs against three Washington Slate Penitentiary parolees who were suspects in a supermarket holdup were dis missed in Cjrciut Court here Fri day. The three, who were charged, with taking part in the July 2,'lrcl robbery of a Piggly Wiggly store in southwest Portland, waived extradition to Washing ton as parole violators. They were Gerald Durning, BO; Virgil Lane, 51, and Ruth Maridia, 45, all of Seattle. Another Seattle man, Glen Wahl, was convicted of robbery Wednesday in connection with the holdup. T ET'S do some supposing. - Supposing that come next fall the situation might not look too favorable for the return of his administration to power. Suppose things weren't work ing out quite as planned. Sup pose the poll-takers were report ing that the Republican candi date was showing a tot of slrength and that something was needed to provide a little more PUSH FOR VOTES. Suppose that some BOONDOG GLING might be needed to im prove the situation. TN THAT event, there would be a lot of pressure to RE SUME the boondoggling proced ures that have so often been suc cessful in the years of the past. Does he mean that in such an event his answer would be a flat NO? Does he mean that boondoggling is OUT for good and all and that never again will it be resorted to no matter what the political situation might be?
