Roy E. Price, general contractor from Bakersficld, California, brought the line into Medford outskirts. M. C. Lininger and sons are contractors installing the feeder lines. The project employed approximately 100 men, using 2 diggers, 3 side booms, 4 back hoes, and i welding units, covering about a mile each day, Hoppe added. The redecorated build ing is shown at right. Spencer returns to Medford after association with Para mount Studios, Filmsler Pro ductions and Thomas Newtown Designs in Hollywood. One of his first acts as new owner of Winnie's was the remodeling and addition of a wig depart ment that specializes in fitting and styling wigs. Recently, Spencer and Doreen Vaughn of the Town and Coun try Shop, White City, held a style and wig show at the Med ford Hotel for the Greeter's Committee - Welcome Wagon. Models wore clothes furnished by Town and Country shop and wigs that were styled and set by the hair stylists at Winnie's Style Salon and Wiggery, 528 East Main, Medford. Divorced Director Better After Coma New York-IUPII-Sidney Lu met, divorced last Saturday by heiress Gloria Vandcrbilt, was released Monday from St. Vincent's Hospital where he was treated for the ef fects of a mixture of liquor and a tranquilizer. The 39-year-old theatrical director was taken to the hos pital Sunday night in a coma. Hospital authorities said he had taken an overdose of "doriden," a barbiturate, at his Greenwich Village apart ment. However, Lumet said that although he had a bottls of 100 sleeping pills in his apartment "they are still un opened with the seal on top.-' "All it was was seven vod kas, a Miltown and idiocy," ha said as he left the hospital. "I took a tranquilzer on top of the drinks because of the aggravation of a nasty four day business fight." Central, Medford, Oregon. J. J. Materie, meeting in Oakland with 75 Other Ward store managers from , the western United States, also was introduced to an array of new fall merchandise includ ing transistorized hi-fi consoles, convertible pool and billiard tables, power tools for in dustrial and home use, home improvement services and home furnishings during a three day business and planning conference. Company officials from Wards headquarters and region offices presented the new merchandise and outlined promotional activities for the coming six months. Decatur, Ga. -WPD- A shotgun-carrying bandit robbed a branch of the Citizens and Southern Bank of $19,000 Monday and escaped, although an alarm siren sounded while the robbery was in progress, a hidden camera took pictures of him and a teller managed to slip a time-delay smoke capsule in the money bag. Break, Entry of Grocery Is Cleared Break and entry of the Rose Grocery from which candy, nuts and cigarettes valued at S7 were taken Mon day, was cleared later in the day by city police with the arrest of four juveniles, who have been released to the cus tody of their parents. The youths, ranging in ages from 15 to 17, are not the ones being questioned by city police on a series of car thefts, officers said. Interrogation of the four juveniles involved in car theft has uncovered informa tion sought in 3(1 cases, po lice said today. The investi gation is continuing.
