AUGUST 25. 1963 Members of the Exemplar chapter, Xi Beta Kappa, of the Beta Sigma Phi society, are making plans for their second annual Yellow Rose ball to be held this year Sep tember 7 in Rogue Valley Country club. Dancing is scheduled for the semi-formal vent from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Bob Ander son trio will furnish the music. The yellow rose is the flower for the society. Week End Guests Ashland-Week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Frost, 2280 Siskiyou boulevard, were Mr. Frost's niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Wilson and three children of San Bernardino, Calif. Return Prospect - Mrs. Willard Huffman, Prospect, and Mrs. Marion Schulz, Shady Cove, were to return August 24 from a trip to Portland. They left here August 21. Potluck Dinner The Chrysanthemum circle of Neighbors of Woodcraft will hold a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 26. at the Eagles hall. Members may take guests, it was reported. Houseguests Wonder - Houseguests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Bassett are Mrs. Wil liam Proctor and daughter, Trudy, and son, Tony, all Vac aville, Calif. Mrs. Proctor is a sister of Mrs. Bassett. Fiftieth Anniversary Observed Shady Cov e An open house August 21 observed the fiftieth wedding anniver sary of Mr. and Mrs. M. H, Williams, Shady Cove. The event was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bartuss, Rogue River drive,. Mrs. Bartuss was assisted by Mrs. V. H. Wilson and Mrs. E. S. Strothers, both Medford. Other invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Young, Medford; Mrs. La Vira Zohn, Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Novotny, Mr. and Mrs. John Carlson, Mrs. M Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Torrance, Mr. and Mrs Floyd Kelley, Mr. and Mrs Frank Flink, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Conway, Mr. and Mrs, William Schulz, all Shady Cove; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chamberlain, Trail, and Mrs. Thelma Short, Mrs. Marion Nagel and Mrs. Clara Chamberlain, Eagle Point. The honored couple was presented a basket of silver dollars wrapped in gold foil Mr. and Mrs. Williams were married August 25, 1913 in Wichita, Kan. Miss Marsha Watson (at left) modeled this Youth Guild ef New York wool knit campus dress for the party which Rogue Valley Panhellenie council gave recently for young women entering college this fall for the first time. The dress is blue and the contrasting striping is green. Miss Watson will be a sophomore at the University of Washington, Seattle, this fall. Commentator for the show was Mrs. Thomas Ham lin, pictured with Miss Watson. Clothing was from Jean Hart's store. At Convention Ashland - Rex N. Clarke, president of Southern Oregon college, Iota Delta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and char ter secretary, Richard Tibbets of Tiller, left on Friday for Indianapolis, Ind., where they will attend the fraternity's na tional convention. To Europe Grants Pass - Mrs. Ethel Sinott, 120 Gordon way, will sail August 28 aboard the Queen Elizabeth for a tour of Europe. Among other places, Mrs. Sinott plans to visit Eng land, Ireland and Bavaria. Couple Mores Prospect - Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Firestone have moved to Prospect from Gold Hill and are living at Dewey Hills trailer court. They are par ents of Mrs. Sidney Peterson.
