The bride, a daugh ter of Mrs. Loude A. Barrell, Eugene, taught in Medford High school for the past three years. The bridegroom, of Port land, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Tipping, Webster City, Iowa. He was with the Pa cific Power and Light com pany, Medford, before being transferred to Portland. The ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Ray J. Tuttle at 8 o'clock in the evening in the Friendly Street Church of God. Methodist Ceremony Weds Pair Mrs. Margaret Pederson, Medford, became the bride of Boyd Wilson, Coos Bay, in an informal ceremony performed Sunday afternoon, August 4, at 2 o'clock in Clarence Meek er Memorial chapel of the Medford First Methodist church. The Rev. George Roseberry, pastor, read the rites. The bride, who was given In marriage by her son, Roger Pederson, Las Vegas, Nev., wore a dress of beige brocade with fitted bodice and skirt with unpressed pleats, and a matching jacket. Her acces . sories were beige, and she wore a corsage of pink rose buds. , Only attendant was Mrs. Helen Apple, Redwood City, Calif., sister of the bride, who wore a sheath dress of aqua marine silk. Her accessories were beige and her corsage was of white carnations. Best man was Jack Master son, Coos Bay, and William Bradford, Coos Bay, the bride groom's son-in-law, and Nolan Greenwood, Ashland, nephew of the bride, were ushers. Thirty-five members of the families and close friends of the couple witnessed the wed ding ceremony and attended the reception which followed in the church social hall. Mrs, Robert Larimer, the bride's sister-in-law, served the wed' ding cake, assisted by Mrs. William Bradford and Mrs Roeer Pederson. Miss Joan Wilson, daughter of the bride groom, was in charge ol tne guest book, with Miss Janice Larimer, the bride's niece, assisting. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson will make their home at Coos Bay. The bride was given !n marriage by an uncle, Harry Ray, Kennewick, Wash. Her gown of Chantilly lace over satin was designed with chap el train. The scoop neckline was trimmed with mother-of-pearl sequins and a crown of pearlized orange blossoms held her butterfly veil. She carried a white orchid with stephanotis. Mrs. George D. Warren, Myrtle Creek, was matron of honor for her sister, and an other sister. Miss Marilyn Barrell, Eugene, and Miss Charlene Tipping, Webster City, a sister of the bride groom, were the bridesmaids. They wore white cotton eye let embroidered frocks over blue satin and their net hats were blue. They carried cas cade bouquets of blue tinted carnations. Missy White, Albuquerque, N. M., a niece of the bride groom, was flower girl. Greg White, a nephew, was ring bearer. Candlelighturs were cousins of the bride, Walter Johnson, Eugene, and Walden Ander son, St. Helens. They also served as ushers with Mr. Warren, and Michael Mcln tyre, Portland. Frank White, Albuquerque, served as best man for his brother-in-law. White gladioli decorated the church and pew ends were marked with blue satin bows. Mrs. Herber Porter, Eu gene, was the organist and soloist was Everett Winter, Ashland. Reception Held The reception given by the bride's mother was held in the church social room. Some 300 guests attended the ceremony and reception. The couple is on their wedding trip to the Oregon and California coast, and are to live after August 15 at 1370 Southeast Watson street, Beaverton, Ore. For traveling the bride wore a light blue suit with royal blue accessories. The bride attended the University of Oregon and will be employed by the Bea verton school district as a history teacher in the high school. The bridegroom, who at tended Arizona State college, is employed as a construction engineer for the power and light firm. Two Weddings Announced The son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Potucek, 3870 O'Gara avenue, Medford were married in two recent ceremonies held within a day of each other. Miss Cheryl Diane Potucek was married to Sammy Lee Hopkins Friday, August 2, at Las Vegas, Nev., and Miss Helen Louise Ruppel became the bride of Kenneth L. Potu cek, Saturday, August 3 at Tucson, Ariz. Potuctk-Hopkins At the Potucek Hopkins ceremony, the Rev. John Meeker officiated at the rites which were held at the Wee Kirk of the Heather chapel. For the wedding, attended by her mother, the bride wore a white lace sheath dress with a short veil held by a crown. Her flowers were white car nations. The new Mrs. Hopkins is a graduate of Medford High school, and is employed by Kadee Metal Products, Med ford. Mr. Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hopkins, 816 South Central street, Med ford, is employed by J. C. Penney company. The couple will be at home at 1261 Spring street. Rupptl-Potucek ' The Ruppel - Potucek rites, held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran church, were at tended by some 150 guests. For the ceremony, the bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold J. Ruppel, Tuc son, Ariz., was dressed in a silk organza and Chantilly lace gown. The lace basque bodice was designed with cal la lily sleeves and a Sabrina neckline adorned with irides cent sequins and seed pearls. A lace motif and rose pouffs were detailed on the full or ganza skirt, which was styled Mrs. Sammy L Hopkins (Landis photo) with a chapel length train. Hand clipped Chantilly lace bordered the hemline. Her fingertip length silk il lusion veil was secured by a pearl crown, accented with crystal teardrops. The bride's sister. Miss Em elie Ruppel, was maid of honor and the bridegroom's best man was Arthur Elkins, Arizona, formerly Medford. Ushers were James Ruppel, brother of the bride, and Ken neth Kaufman. At the reception held in the church, the new Mrs. Hopkins assisted with the gifts. Agraduateof Catalina High school, Tucson, Ariz., the bride will be graduated from the School of Nursing at Mrs. Ktnneth L. Potucek (Campus photo) the Good Samaritan hospital, Phoenix, Ariz., this month. The bridegroom, a graduate of Medford High school. stationed at Luke Air Force base, Ariz., where he is an airman first class. The couple who are pres ently residing at 2139 West Virginia avenue, Phoenix, Ariz., will leave in September for Germany where he will be on duty with the Air Force. For her son's wedding, Mrs FotuceK was dressed in an ivory colored cotton knit dress with blue accessories. The bride's mother wore a blue pima cotton dress with white accessories. Phone 772-6253 Blind Child Club Speaker Shady Cove When mem bers of the Shady Cove-Trail Lions club were entertained by the group's auxiliary at dinner August 6 in Rogue Ri ver lodge, the speaker for the evening was Loretta Mc Clearen, a student from the state school for the blind, Salem. The student, who is spon sored by the auxiliary, was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. L. Rohwer and her grandmother, Mrs. L. E. Wimberly. A film taken at the school showed how the blind chil dren are trained and edu cated. Mrs. Floyd Ehrheart and Mrs. Iola Porterfield were Initiated into the auxiliary.
