DINING EDftOO iUlO EOMOM MslO eiuor aosio PLAN NO. 4919 1496 SQUARE FEET 'J This Week's Plan for Home Builders The outstanding feature of this home is its well organized traffic plan. Excellent circula tion throughout a house is one of the more important requis ites of today's prospective builder. Very few homes are being built with an entry door open ing direct to the living room. It isn't too difficult to plan a home where all rooms are accessible from the front en- ivy. It takes a little more thought to design a home where the hall is accessible from the service, which elinv inates much foot traffic through the kitchen. The ultl mate in center hall planning is when an exterior door opens from the hall to the outside of the house. All of these are of fered in this distinctive four bedroom home. Entry Poor Recalled The front entry door has been recessed to provide com plete protection from the ele ments. The entry is well light ed by a stationary window next to the door and the same height as the door. From the living room, a wide view of the street is possible through a large pic ture window. A view of the rear yard plus access to the generous size patio is avail able from the sliding glass doors in the dining ell. The handsome corner fireplace can be- enjoyed from any place in either the living room or dining ell. Run-Off Considered On TFX Contract Washington - HJPD - Sen. Karl E. Mundt (R-S.D.) said today that a plan for a run off competition for the TFX f lahter plane contract was be ing given "some thought" by the Senate investigators Under the proposal. Gen eral Dynamics Corporation and the Boeing Company would build prototype planes each. The best one would win the competition and the con tract for its company. However, Mundt said the idea was not "finalized," but was "among the possible recommendations considered by a subcommittee invest! gating the controversy over the contract. Mundt said he had received a lot of favorable mail on the idea. However, Pentagon witness es so far have rejected any proposal for a winner-take- all coompetition on the super sonic fighter. The initial research con tract was awarded to the General Dynamics Company eight months ago, despite recommendations by some military officials that the award go to Boeing. ZOO ORDERS DIVORCE Copenhagen, Denmark -WW - The Copenhagen Zoo has ordered a divorce for Boon and Bonree, a male and fe male elephant couple who have been fighting. The spats culminated last week when Bonree bit off her mate's tail. The too announced Wed nesday that she will be trans ferred to the Vejle Zoo in Jutland. If you would like to use the den as an office, another door could be located in the wall next to the entry. All bedrooms have spacious ward robes with the one in the mas ter bedroom stretching across the entire 14'-6" width of the room! Closet It Included A linen closet has been in cluded in the layout of the family bath. This bath has an enclosed tub with a shower over while the second bath has a roomy shower. A plus value in the location of the second bath is that it can be entered from both the hall and the service. This contemporary elevation has been achieved by using a variety of building materials of different colors and tex tures. Note how the wide stone chimney is matched by the stone veneer on the gar age. Long, low planters tie- in to both of these wide ex panses of stone. ComDlete workins drawincs for this plan can be purchased at a cost of $7.30 for the first set and $9 for each additional set when ordered at the same time. This plan will be available at these firices until Nov. 21. Please allow wo to three weeks for delivery. IT'S YOUR LAW Retpfct for Law Makes Democracy Ltvt Editor's noiei The follow ing article was prepared as public service by in Ore gon State Bar and is not in tended to be legal advice. Persons having a legal problem should consult an attorney. STARTING A LAWSUIT The thnueht of starting a lawsuit may cross your mind, and you have only the slight pst idea of when to sue and how to start a suit. Our laws give us a written rfn.riniro that the courts will see to It that we are repaid money we loan, or mat peo ni mja rirnl with will keep their word when we make a contract, or that we'll get what we are reasonably en titled to if hurt because of nnnthnr nnrson's ncElicence. Suppose some one aoesn t tuv the mnnev he owes us, or smashes into our parked car and refuses to pay tne garage bills. Or, maybe he claims it uiu nnr fault when we sprain ed an ankle on his broken stairway and lost a week's uinrk- nnri we feci SUTC that If he had taken care of his property we'd never have missed the pay cnec n,isilinn of Court The law gives us the ngni tn an tn court. That, we know. . . Which court is the rtcht a9 t tho riaim smuu enough to be handled by a Justice of the Peace? Or. must we go to the District Court. h Federal court? Are we entitled to anything beyond the doctor bill or aar hill fnr all the trouble we've been through? Is it damages we want, or an in junction, or a writ ot re plevin? If we nemann uiuhcj nriomrmt for some wrong, or ir nr inlurv suffered be cause of another person's ac tions, wed be asking tor damages. In addition to recovering actual expenses for the serv- nt mmpnnp like B doctor np mechanic, and receiving the equivalent of whatever pay is lost from Being unaoie work, we migm De eniiuea Hnmnffpx for our Dain and suffering in case there's per sonal injury. Ferhaps we ve been subject ridicule, or loss ot dusi been given a bad name either through vicious gossip, ma licious printed statements, or false arrest. We might claim damages. Injunction Suit We may want the court only to enforce an agreement we have with someone by directing him to perform a specified act. Maybe we want to stop or prohibit an action or circumstances that will cause us harm. Then it's an injunction suit we want. Maybe we want to get back something other than money loaned. This Is known as "re plevin." What it is, we'd be almost certain to come out ahead in the long run because we think about suing only as a last re sort, and only when our con science tells us we are dead right. We have faith that the law will protect us, that a court will see that justice is done. to ness, or our reputation has Foreign Vessels For Lumber Sought Washington - (I'M - ReD. I Jack Westland (R-Wash.) joined today in an effort to win permission for West Coast lumber shippers to use for eign flag vessels between U. S. ports. Westland said he had intro duced legislation to allow such use of foreign vessels now prohibited by U.S. ship ping laws. Similar bills al ready have been Introduced by other Pacific Northwest members of congress. However, Westland said, his bill also would make per manent a temporary authori zation to use foreign flag ves sles for carrying lumber to Puerto Rico. The authoriza tion, approved last year by concrcss. expires Oct. 24. I Both measures are intend ed to help the West Coast lumber industry meet Cana dian competition on U.S. East Coast markets. Westland said use of lower-cost foreign vessels had helped U.S. lumber producers recapture part of the Puerto Rican market.
