AUGUST 4. 1963 Talent In the first wed ding ceremony to be held in the new First Christian church, Miss Joyce Louise Hunter was married to Allan William Morse. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hunter, Pioneer road, Talent, and the bride groom is the son of William E. Morse, Kailua, Hawaii, and the late Mrs. Morse. The Rev. Frederick Ross Evans officiated at the July 27 rites. Some 200 relatives and friends attended the double ring ceremony held at 8 o'clock in the evening. Bride Wean Lace Mr. Hunter escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. She wore a floor length gown of tulle and Chantilly lace, trimmed with sequins. The gown was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, and the overskirt had a cascade of net ruffles in back. Her el bow length veil was held by a pearl tiara, and she car ried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and white carna tions with aqua netting and white ribbons. Blue hydrangeas, Dink and white gladioli, and white candles in brass candelabra decorated the church. Mrs. Jack Hausotter, Rose burg, served as matron of honor for her sister. Mrs. Dale Abel was bridesmatron, and Miss Gloria Haggard, bridesmaid. Carry Carnations They wore sheath dresses of blue on white print. The matron of honor carried a bouquet of pink carnations, with aqua net and ribbons, and the other attendants car ried bouquets of pink and white carnations, with aqua net and ribbons. Henry Scott served as best man for the bridegroom. Ushers were Robert Hunter, brother of the bride, James Scott, and Willard Chapman, Ashland, brother-in-law of the bride. Flower girls, Sara Hausot ter and Linda and Glenda Chapman, and candlelightcrs, Lisa and Debra Hausotter, were all nieces of the bride. They wore pink nylon dress es with petal overskirts. Ronald Chapman, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Prayer Spoken Organist for the wedding was Miss Margaret Ramsay, Ashland, and Mrs. Ralph Mat lack was soloist.- A spoken prayer from the balcony was said by Miss Jeanne Thorpe, and the choral amen response was given by the soloist. For her daughter's wed- Mr. and Mrs. Allan William Morse (Locke photo) ding, Mrs. Hunter wore a blue print dress with white accessories. At the reception given by the bride's parents in the church parlor, Miss Mary de Place cut and served the cake. Presiding at the punch bowl were Miss Sandy Max son and Miss Jeanne Thorpe. In charge of the guest book was Miss Margaret Bolz, Phoenix, and at the gift table was Miss Treeca Collins, Phoenix. The couple, both graduates of Phoenix High school, will reside in San Bruno, Calif., where Mr. Morse is employed with United Airlines as a flight instrument technician. Bride To College The bride will be a senior in elementary education at San Francisco State college. She has been a teacher of piano for some years, and has served as organist for the First Christian church, Med ford. She also attended South ern Oregon college. Mr. Morse has attended the University of the Philippines, and served four years with the U. S. Air Force. The newlywcds traveled to Lake Tahoe for their wed ding trip, the bride wearing a green linen suit with pink and white accessories. Among the out of town guests were William E. Program Announced For Tea Soloists and a string quar tette will furnish the pro gran, for the annual tea to be given by Women's associa tion of First Presbyterian church Tuesday, August 6 from 2 to 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon. The event will be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. B. Brandt Bartels, 2100 Oakwood drive. An exhibit of hobbies also will be featured. In charge are Mrs. Charles Lemery, Mrs. D. Kirkland West and Mrs. William Win ton. Soloists will be Mrs. A. L. Clay and Maynard Hadley, Members of the string quartette are Mrs. William Williams, Lynn Sjolund, Miss Mira Frohnmayer and Mrs. Kenneth Brown. Pouring during the after noon will be Mrs. Lewis Rentchler. Mrs. West, Mrs. Melvin Hoover, Mrs. Lloyd Nielson and Mrs. Max Priebe. Pre-Wedding Events Held In Medford Several pre-weddine; events have been held in Medford honoring two bride-elects, Miss Roberta Ann Sleeter and Miss Judy Jean Christensen. Miss Sleeter's marriage to Ed ward George Foxley Jr., was an event of July 26 in First Presbyterian church. Miss Christensen is to become the bride of Thomas Earl Manely in rites set for August 11. Miss Christensen also is to be entertained at a bridge j party and shower Thursday evening, August 8 when Mrs. Lester D. Harris and her daughter, Miss Mary Kay Harris, will entertain in their home at 707 South Oakdale avenue, Mrs. Charles W. Barnes, 2895 Hillcrest road, was host ess for a recent luncheon and handkerchief shower, which honored Miss Sleeter and Miss Christensen. Cohostcsscs with Mrs. Barnes were her daughters, Mrs. Donald Mc- Loughlin, Mrs. Thomas Laur- ance and Miss Patricia Barnes. Some 20 guests attended a luncheon and miscellaneous showers for Miss Christensen and Miss Sleeter when Mrs. R. E. Mencke, 2141 East Jack son boulevard entertained re cently. Among the guests was Miss Jane Barker, San Fran cisco, who was in Medford visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barker. The af ternoon was spent playing bridge. Other recent hostesses were Mrs. Monty Penwell, 617 Car rington avenue, and Miss Jacklyn Creager who were joint hostesses for an evening dessert party and shower in honor of Miss Christensen. About IS Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters and other col lege classmates of the hon ored guest attended. Mrs. Robert Sleeter and Mrs. H. D. Christensen also were guests at the numerous events which honored their daughters. Fall Wedding Is Planned By Valley Couple Phoenix-An early Septem ber wedding is planned by Miss Diane Yvonne De Luca, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lew is De Luca former Phoenix residents now of Delta, Colo., and Sidney Bruce De Boer. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter De Boer, 760 Clay street, Ashland. Miss De Luca, a 1961 grad uate of Phoenix High school, also attended Southern Ore gon college. She is employed as an International Business Machine operator at Harry and David's Boar Creek or chards, Medford. The bridegroom - elect, a 1961 graduate of Ashland High school, is a junior at Stanford university, Palo Al to, Calif., where he will re turn in the fall. He has stud ied for six months in Europe and at the present time is em ployed at Walt's Lithia Motor company, Ashland, his fa ther's business. Bailey, was honored at a pre-nuptial shower Tues day evening, July 30. About 70 friends and relatives at tended the event, which was held in the social room of the Gold Hill Community Meth odist church. The wedding is set for Fri day, August 16 at 8 o'clock at First Methodist church, 607 West Main street. Medford. Miss Chittock is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chit tock, Medford, and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Bailey, Gold Hill. Miss Chittock opened her gifts at a lace covered table beneath white wedding bells entwined with pink and white streamers. Arrangements of gladioli, petunias end baby breath decorated the room. Miss Rupert's wedding to Mr. Dunlap is set for August 31 at 8 o'clock in the evening at Zion Lutheran church. Williams, 2017 Suzanna ave nue, has been announced by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Hazel V. Walton, Klamath Falls. Miss Walton, also a daugh ter of Frank R. Walton, Oak land, Calif., is a 1960 gradu ate of Eagle Point High school and is employed at the United States National bank, Medford. Her fiance, who is self-employed, is a 1958 graduate of Ukiah, Cal if., Union High school. He is a son of Mrs. Vivian Bledsoe of the Suzanna avenue ad dress, and J. h. Williams, Ukiah. The wedding dale is set for October 5. From Boise Talent Mr. and Mrs. Rav Feeler and children, Boise, Ida., are visiting the couple's parents and other relatives and friends in the viillev. In an evening wedding cere mony attended by some 150 guests. Miss Darlene Inez Chitwood became the bride of Edward Allan McGinty Jr., Saturday, July 6 at 8 o'clock. Miss Chitwood is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Chitwood, 932 Alta street, Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allan McGinty Sr., 103 King street, Medford, are the parents of the bridegroom. The couple, both graduates of Phoenix High, school, were married in the Medford Friends church by the minis ter. Jack Willcuts. The bride's father gave hcr'in marriage. For her wedding the bride wore a floor length gown fashioned with a train, and lace jacket. The gown of white satin had a fitted bodice and scoop neckline. Her short veil was held by a pearl tiara, and her crescent shaped bou quet was of while cymbidium orchids with Ester Reed dais ies. Miss Judy Dixon was her maid of honor, and brides maids were Miss Gail Stone, the bride's cousin, and Miss Linda McGinty, the bride groom's sister. The three attendants wore dresses of yellow taffeta bro cade. The street length dresses were of the same pattern as the bride's gown. Their bou quets were of Ester Reed daisies, and they wore white accessories. Linda Ford and Kendal Smith, both Fresno, Calif., the bride's niece and nephew, were flower girl and ring bearer. The bridegroom's best man was Othar Richey, and Mi chael Arant, Michael Hoover, and Clayton Banry, Gold Hill were ushers. Other attendants were Jack Winchester, Phoe nix, and Ron Walker, Central Point. The bridegroom's sister, Cheryl McGinty, and the bride's niece, Pamela Ford, Fresno, Calif., were candle lighters. Mrs. Clem Kinley furnished organ music for the wedding and the bride's brother, Don Chitwood, was vocalist. At the reception given by the bride's parents in the church fellowship room, the cake, made by Mrs. Floyd Ditch, Central Point, was served by Mrs. Don Chitwood, Newberg, the bride's sister-in-law. Punch was served by Miss Sharon Shcllabargcr, the bridegroom's aunt, and Miss Cindy Anderson poured cof fee and tea. Miss Donna McGinty, tahe bridegroom's sister, and Miss Konnie Smith, the bride's niece, were in charge of the guest bock, and in charge of the gifts were Michael Ford, the bride's nephew and Miss Carola Smith, the bride's niece. For their trip to the Oregon coast, the bride wore a yellow and white two piece cotton suit, with a corsage from her bridal bouquet. The newlywcds have moved to their home at 202 North Fifteenth street, Corvallis, where they will both attend Oregon State university. Former Valley Residents Here Ashland-Mrs. Charles Her man and children, Trena and Douglas, El Paso, Tex., are guests at the home of Mrs. Herman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Haakon Lageson, - 945 Harmony lane. They are to be joined later this week by Mr. Herman. Both are former Medford resi dents and are graduates of Medford High school. Mrs. Herman is the former Miss Agnes Lageson.
