The suit asked $900 general damages, $2,500 exemplary damages and $7 special damages. Andrews charged Redfield struck him four times after his arrest on a disorderly con duct charge June 7. He said he suffered severe lacerations and restriction of vision in his right eye as a result of the blows. Andrews, a Negro, also com plained that Redfield called him names and made a re mark about his race.
