McBarron-Matsen Rites Held in Yakima Church MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE. MEDFORD. OREGON SUNDAY. JUNE S3. 1863 Rogue River The Dan J, McBarron lamily of Rogue1 River traveled to Yakima, Wash., this week end to at tend the wedding ceremony of Miss Karen Elizabeth Mat sen and Dana Joseph McBar ron Jr., in the Lady chapel of St. Paul Cathedral. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Mat sen, Wapato, Wash. The bridegroom came from his home in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. McBarron north were their son, Mark McBarron and their daughter, Miss Frances McBarron. - The 11 o'clock rites were performed June 22 by the Rev. John Ecker. Miss Gretchen Geffe, Wa pato, was the bride's honor attendant. John Austen of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, was best man. Brothers of the bride and bridegroom, Mark McBar ron, and Thomas Matsen, were the ushers. Mr. Matsen escorted his daughter to the altar. Wears Linen The bride's gown of em broidered candlelight linen was trimmed with insertions of handmade German Klop pel lace. The bodice with el bow length sleeves, was ac cented by a baroque neckline, and the bell-shaped skirt was floor length. An Irish linen pillbox hat with Kloppel lace held her bouffant veil in candlelight ivory shade. She carried a cascade bouquet of white rosebuds with ivy. The honor attendant wore a rose pink peau taffeta dress with scoop neckline and semi bell skirt. The band at the waistline was trimmed with a bow at the back and her headpiece of organza matched her gown and the short veil was in pink. Her bouquet was of pink rose buds and ivy. The bride's mother wore a rose silk shantung jacket dress with shirred silk organ za bodice. The bridegroom's mother was dressed in beige silk suit. Both had matching accessories and their corsages were white orchids. Baskets of pink rosebuds and calla lilies decorated the church. The reception was held in the home of the bride's par ents in Wapato. The couple left for a boat trip through the San Juan is lands. They will live, after July 8, at 1150 Marine drive, North Vancouver, B.C. The bride and b 'degroom both attended Oregon State university. The bridegroom has been attending the Uni versity of British Columbia and he will return there next fall. The bride also will enter the university. 1 Parents Return Students Home From the East Mr. and Mrs. Glen V. Al len, 951 South Stage road, returned home last week ac companied by their son, Rob ert Allen, who was graduated June 13 from Harvard uni versity, Boston, Mass., and Frank Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton H. Peterson, 941 South Stage road, who was graduated this month from Cornell university, Ithaca, N.Y. The Aliens went east, ac companied by Mrs. - Allen's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richardson of Salem, to attend com. m e n c e m ent ceremonies at Harvard university. En route from here the group went by way of Den ver, Kansas City, Louisville, Richmond and Washington, D.C. Their son met them at Philadelphia. While east they also visited New York City and Bar Harbor, Maine. Following the graduation exercises they traveled to Ithaca and were joined by Mr. Peterson, later visiting Niagara Falls and returned by way of Cleveland and Chicago. In the meantime the Richardsons had returned. Robert Allen plans to en ter Temple Medical school in Philadelphia in the fall. Frank Peterson has received a fellowship to Stanford unr versity for graduate work in geology. He left Saturday for Battle Mountain, Nev., where he will be employed during the summer by an ore manu facturing plant. Miss Linda Ray Neal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roy Neal, 310 Bridge street, Ashland, became the bride of Peter Jon Kreisman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Krelsman, 455 Liberty street, Ashland, in a ceremony held June 19 at First Methodist church in Medford. In the other ceremony, held June 14 at St. Ann's chapel, Palo Alto, Miss Margaret Anne Doherty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Doherty, Naperville, 111., became the bride of Larry Dwight Neal, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal. KREISMAN-NEAL Dr. George G. Roseberry of ficiated at the double-ring ceremony which married Miss Neal and Mr. Kreisman. About 175 relatives and friends attended. Baskets of pink and white gladioli and white delphinium decorated the church for the 11 a.m, wedding. Mr. Neal escorted his daugh ter to the altar and gave her in marriage. She wore a floor length gown of white taffeta with eggshell colored silk bro cade overskirt and bodice, it was styled with fitted bodice, long sleeves, and round neck line and her shoulder length veil was held by a seed pearl tiara. She carried American beauty roses. Miss Karen Sue Fieguth was maid of honor and brides matron was Mrs. Jon Cham breau, Portland. They wore frocks of American beauty silk shantung with matching veils and carried white bas kets filled with sweet peas, sweet william, roses and ivy. David Getty, Tucson, Ariz., served as best man. Grooms man was Steven Alan Kreis man, brother of the bride groom, and seating the guests were Kenneth Guy, Los An geles, Calif, and William Blanchard, Fortuna, Calif. Candlelighters were Fred Roy Neal III," brother of the bride, and James Kreisman, another brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Leslie Boaraman piay- ed the organ wedding music. Recaption at Church The reception, which fol lowed in the church parlors, was supervised by the Wo man's Society of Christian Service of the church. Mrs. Larry Neal, sister-iri' law of the bride, cut and serv- ed the cake and Miss Betty MacDonald poured coffee. Presiding at the punch bowl was Mrs. Lawton Lewis. Miss Diane Fieguth was in charge of the guest book. Richard Kreisman, brother of the bridegroom, was at the gift table. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Neal chose a brown and yellow print frock with beige and yellow accessories and yellow rose corsage. Mrs Kreisman wore a blue and white printed dress with white accessories and her corsage was of pink roses The couple is at home at 455 Liberty street, Ashland The bride is a graduate of Ashland High school, attend ed the University of Oregon and San Francisco State col lege. She is a student this summer at Southern Oregon college. Mr. Kreisman, Is graduate of Ashland High school and Stanford univer sity. He Is employed by Pa cific Power and Light coin pany. Returns Prospect - Mrs. Raymond Artmire has returned to he home after visiting relatives and friends at Pipestone and Rochester, Minn. NEAL-DOHERTY The Rev. John Duryca of ficiated for the Neal-Doherty rites held at two o'clock in the afternoon and attended by 65 relatives and friends. Mr. Doherty came from Nap erville, 111., to escort his daughter to the altar. The bride wore a floor length gown of white peau de sole covered with organza fashioned with scoop neckline short sleeves and full skirt, The bodice and sleeves were accented with lace and appli ques of the lace were scatter ed on the skirt. Her shoul der length veil was held by a pearl crown and she carried a bouquet of white roses and ivy. Miss Heather Humphreys, Naperville; 111., was maid of honor and Miss Linda Neal, the bridegroom's sister, and Mrs. William E. Sheidley, Palo Alto, Calif., were the other attendants. They wore ight ' pink organza sheath dresses and carried white baskets of pink tea roses and ivy. David R. Dicrdorff, Los Al tos Hills, Calif., served as best man and seating the guests were John A. Doherty, Paper ville. 111., brother of the bride, and William E. Sheidley, Palo Alto. Garden Recaption A reception was held in the chapel gardens following the ceremony. Mrs. Harold Scott, Naperville, 111., aunt of the bride, wore a gold brown two piece dress with tan accessor ies. Mrs. Neal wore a sky blue silk shantung dress with white accessories. Their cor sages were white gardenias. Mrs. David R. Dicrdorff was in charge of the guest book. The couple traveled to Mon terey, Calif., and the northern California coast on their wed ding trip, the bride wearing a beige suit with matching ac cessories. They are spending the summer at Hall's point lookout in the Prospect ran ger district of the Rogue Riv er National forest. The bride is a graduate of Stanford university. Mr. Neal a graduate of Ashland High school and Stanford univer sity, is a student at the Uni versity of California at Berkeley. Birthday Occasion For Recent Dinner P. M. Aldredge, 833 West Second itreet, Medford, wai honored June 18 on the oc casion of his birthday when dinner was served at the Aid redge home. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cave, Mr. and Mrs Max Hite and Mr. and Mrs Roger Weiss and sons, Paul and Mark, all Medford; Mr and Mrs. Wlllard Cave. Parties Given For Bride-Elect; Rites Last Night Miss Marcia Barrell. whose marriage to Grant Quinney Jr. was set for June 22 at St. Mark's Episcopal church here, was honored at several pre nuptial parties last week. On Monday, June 17, the bride to - be lunched with friends at a miscellaneous and kitchen shower given by Mrs. Ralph Hibbs and Mrs. Billy Blackstone at the home of Mrs. Hibbs, 190 White Oak drive. Miss Barrell and members of the bridal party were the guests of Mrs. Maury Isted, aunt of the bride-elect at the traditional bridal luncheon on Friday, June 21, at Rogue Valley Country club. The group met at the Barrell home prior to the luncheon to see the bride's gifts. Mrs. Paul Selby was hos tess for a party Wednesday afternoon at the Selby home, 2427 Lyman avenue. Miss Barrell was presented person al gifts. Dessert was served, and decorations were in pink and white, the wedding col ors. Ester Reed daisies were combined with pink roses in the floral' arrangements. The 26 guests included the bride-elect, her mother, Mrs, C. H. Barrell, her sister, Mrs, Thomas Taylor, Eugene, her aunt, Mrs. Isted; Mr. Quin ney's mother, Mrs. Grant Quinney, and his aunt, Mrs, Ralph Boss. Most of the guests were members of Mrs. Bar ren's bridge club and other close family friends. Following the rehearsal on Friday evening, the wedding party was entertained for din ner at the home of Mrs. Ralph Bross, aunt of the bridegroom-to-be. The party was given by Mrs. Quinney, his mother, Mrs. Bruce Stanley, and Mrs. Bross. The guests in cluded, in addition to the wed ding party, severals aunts and uncles of the honored couple, Andres Return rom Monterey Ashland - Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Andres, 72 Laurel street, returned recently from a week's vacation on the Mon terey peninsula in California. Visiting with them now are Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Wiegcrt, Atkinson, Wise, and Mrs. G. T. McCauliff of Webster City, Iowa, a girlhood friend cf Mrs. Andres. - Tnrner-Sather Ceremony In Texas Talent - Mrs. Clarence Wil son, Foss road, is in Texas where she will attend a family reunion, She was accompanied to Salt Lake City, Utah, by Mr. Wilson, who has returned Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Dale Turner made a wedding trip to San Francisco and Carmel, Calif., following their mar riage June IS in St. Mark's Episcopal church. The bride is the former Miss Christine Ann Sather, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C, Sather, 509 North Berkeley way. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Turner, Klamath Falls. The Rev. George R. V. Bol ster read the 8 o'clock evening rites. About 200 guests attend ed the ceremony and the re ception which followed at Rogue Valley Country club, making it one of the month's largest social events. Miss Monica Sctty was maid of honor and Miss Slier yl Christian and Miss Karen Hawley, Grants Pass, were bridesmaids. Junior brides maid was Miss Sara Sather, a sister of the bride. Earl Bradford, Klamath Falls, acted as best man and the ushers were Arnold My ers, Eugene, David Patterson, and Douglas Pyles and Gene Simons, both Klamath Falls. Bride Wears Organ Mr, Sather escorted h 1 s daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride's floor length gown of silk or ganza and imported Chantilly lace over taffeta was made with a fitted bodice. The skirt was designed with bell-shaped front and overskirt of lace and full shepherdess back with chapel train. Her bouf fant veil with butterfly face veil was of silk illusion held by a cap of Chantilly lace and taffeta embroidered with pearls. The bridal bouquet was made of a cluster of stephano- tis with a cascade of roses of the sterling silver variety, The attendants' floor length gowns were identical In style and made of cherry pink ny Ion sheer material over taf feta. They were designed with fitted bodices and the skirts with controlled fullness were made with shepherdess backs accented by self material bows. Their Dior head bows matched their dresses and tlicy carried crescents of shat tered white carnations with white glamellas. Recaption at Club The reception was given by the bride's parents at Rogue Valley Country club. Th room and tables were deco rated with white roses, stock and spider chrysanthemums and the tables were covered with Venetian lace cloths For the wedding and recep tion, the bride's mother wore a pale green silk dress and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in a bone silk sheath frock. Both had accessories which matched their dresses and both wore orchid cor sages. Here from out of town were Mrs. John Morton, Miss Cora Sather, Mrs. John H. Loomis, all of Bend; Mr. and Mrs. James Speedling and family, Sunnyvale, Calif- Mr. and William Cogdill, grandparents the bridegroom, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brosterhous, r. and Mrs. George Broster hous and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Beck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cogdill and mlly, all of Klamath Falls: Mr, and Mrs. Donald Zarosin ski and family, Portland, and Mrs. Frederick Loomis and son, Fred Loomis, Palo Alto, Calif. The bridegroom's parents ere hosts for the rehearsal dinner served in the Candle room of the Medford hotel. Pre-wcdding events includ ed a party for the bride-elect given by Mrs. Dewey Wilson nd Mrs. Michael Morris at the Wilson home; a dinner and shower given by Mrs. Vincent Sakraida with the staff of the Medford clinic as guests; a shower given by Miss Monica Setty and her mother, Mrs. Orlow Sctty, at their home, 857 Olympic street, and a shower given by Miss Jenny Dickey at her home, 2200 Dell- wood avenue. - The bride attended Med ford High school and South ern Oregon college before her employment as a receptionist at the Medford clinic. The bridegroom, who attended Klamath Falls Union High school and Southern Oregon college, will attend Ore son recnmcai institute. The cou ple will live at Klamath Falls. For traveling the bride wore a cherry pink knit suit with white accessories and a white cymbidium orchid corsage. C 3 Wedding Date Set by Couple The marriage of Miss ICaren Marney to Ronald Glllaspey has been set for Saturday, July 6. The bride-to-be Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. V. Marney, Route 4, Medford, and the ceremony will be) held in the family home. Mr. Gillaspey Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gillaspey, Central Point. Miss Marney will be a sen lor in Phoenix High school next fall. Mr. Gillaspey is in the United States Navy and Is stationed at Bremerton, Wash. Officer, Family Leave Monday central point - Lt. Cmdr. Ferney McKlbbcn of the U. S. Coast Guard, and Mrs. McKib- ben plan to leave Monday for San Rafael, Calif., where they will live at 524 Cedarberry lane. The couple arrived here two weeks ago as guests of his mother, Mrs. C. F. McKlbbcn, 833 Hopkins road, Central Point. They are accompanied by their sons, Bruce, three and one-half years old, and twin, John and Jcffery, nine months. . The McKlbbens came here from Washington, D.C, where he has been stationed.
