Rough Blocking Of Festival Plays Is Under Way Ashland - Rough blocking rehearsals are under wav at the Oregon Shakespearean fes tival in Ashland, with all four productions now in their sec ond round of rehearsals. Casts sad directors met for the first time Monday after noon, following Monday morn ing's announcement of casting for the four Shakespearean shows. First on the preparation agenda was discussion and read-through of 'ierry Wives of Windsor," the opening show in the 1963 Festival sea son. It was followed by the Initial rehearsal of "Romeo and Juliet" on Monday eve ning, "Love's Labour's Lost" on Tuesday afternoon, and "Henry the Fifth" on Tuesday evening. The four shows will rehearse in this order until early July, when technical re hearsals begin. At that time, shows that have been rehears ing afternoons will trade schedules with the evening rehearsing shows to facilitate lighting and technical instal lations. As in the past, all festival rehearsals are open to the pub lic until the beginning of tech nical and dress rehearsals. General Manager William Patton reports that good seats are available for nearly all performances in the 1963 sea son. Opening night, July 24, has been sold out, however. Local patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the per iod July 24 to August 4 when orders are usually lightest.
