Mrs. Ray Powers was musician. Mrs. Keith Krambeal sang the altar solo, accompanied by Mrs. J. A. McCorkle. Assisting in the crowning ceremony were members of the Order of the De Molay, Grants Pass, who were led by Sam Cowdenj master coun cilor. Candlelighters were Dale Ackermon Jr. and Leslie Krambeal, brother andvcousin of the new queen. Douglas Tryon was the Bible escort and Miss Julie Ann Tryon was the crown escort. Miss Ackerman introduced members of her family: Mrs. James A. Dunn and Mrs. Rho da Ackerman, grandmothers; Mr. and Mrs. l-yie iviauson, aunt and uncle; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Krambeal and family, aunt and uncle; Miss Marcia Ackerman, sister; James Ack erman, past master councillor Crater De Molay; and Dale Ackerman, brothers, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale S. Additional entertain m e n t for the evening was provided by the Classic Tones quartet, directed by Charles Martin. Thurman and Bob Striplin sang during the reception hour, following the installa tion (heme, "The Sound of Music' Footlighters Tryouts Open For Comedy The next play of Footlight ers, little theater group, is to be "Goodbye Charlie," and tryouts will be held Monday and Tuesday, June 10 and 11. It has a cast of seven, with parts for four men and three women, offering an opportu nity for varied talents. , Frank Buchter will be di rector, and the tryouts will be conducted both evenings at 7:30 o'clock in the Footlight ers theater at the fairgrounds. The members encourage all interested newcomers to par ticipate in the tryouts. The play, a light, hilarious and sophisticated comedy was a broadway hit starring Laur en Bacall and Sydney Chap lin. I Cubed Chicken, Avocados Make Perky Entree Borrowing - from Spanish cookery, "Spanish Galleons" is a peppy mixture of cubed chicken, tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic salt heat ed and served in a avocado half-shells with a topping of toasted bread crubs. Avoca dos have been a staple food in Mexico, Central and north ern South America for cen turies. Spanish padres re portedly planted the first avo cados in California. Summer varieties of this luscious fruit begin reaching markets before the end of May. Some of them have pebbled, almost black skins and are known as "black avo cados;" some have green skins. No matter what the outside appearance may be, inside the fruit is the same the vear-round. a favorite in gredient in numerous salads, party dips, sandwich fillings, main dishes and desserts. SPANISH GALLEONS Three avocados; salt- one can (8-oz.) tomato sauce; one cup cubed cooked chicken; one-half teaspoon chili pow der; one-fourth teaspoon gar lic salt; toasted b uttered bread crumbs. Cut avocado lengthwise in Ia halves: remove seeds. i Snrlnkle with salt. Combine remaining ingredients except bread crumbs in saucepan; heat to boiling. Fill avocado halves with hot chicken mixture. Top with crumbs. Place in shal low pan containing warm water to depth of one-half : inch. Heat in 325-dcgree (moderately slow) oven IS minutes. Serve at once. Makes six servings. A plastic lioe bag hung from the back of the car seat is a good place to keep toys and snacks. De Molay Holds nstallation Parents Group Plans Picnic Today at Park SUNDAY. JUNE t, 1163 Ashland-In ceremonies at tended by a large crowd, Scott Roberts was invested with the master councilor's robe of the Order of De Mo lay. The installation rites were held June 1 in the Ma sonic temple. Other new officers of the Ashland chapter are John Reid, senior councilor; David Lohman, junior councilor; wuuam wuey, treasurer: Dan Wright, scribe: Brian Whit- ham and Gary Gosha, senior and junior deacons: RandolDh Nelson and Kim Kady, senior and junior stewards; James Jenne, ch a p 1 a i n; Richard Johnson, sentinel; Craig Ros- borough, standard bearer; Dennis Peoples, almoner; Tom Reid, marshal, and Gary Pen nington, orator. Also installed were the sev en preceptors, William Bern inghauscn, Rodney Georgian- na, Stanley Billings, William Hardy, Conley Hayes, David Weaver and Robert Lawrence. The symbolic De Molay em blem formed a background for the councilors' chairs dur ing the program which fol lowed the ritual. Vocal num bers were sung by Everett Winter accompanied by Miss tana Dougherty, and after ward guests were Introduced. Included among those pre sented were the parents, sis ters, brother and grandpar ents of the new master coun cilor. Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Roberts are his parents and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Streeter his grandparents. Masonic honored guests in troduced were Emmett Whit ham, AF and AM, 23: Mrs. George Findlay, worthy ma tron of Alpha chapter, Order of Eastern Star; and Kathy Zimmerlee, honored queen of Ashland bethel. International Order of Job's Daughters. George Findlay, dad advisor of De Molay, presented mem bers of the council, Allan Har ris, Norman Jenne, Ted Streeter and W. K. Snook. Members of the De Molay Mothers club were also recog nized. Charles Calhoun was given the past master counci lor's pin and at the conclu sion there was the traditional officers' march. At the reception, which fol lowed the installation, parents of the three councilors were in the receiving line. Those taking part were Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, Dr. and Mrs. John N.
