Stones, George Hubbards and Roy Vaughns. They will return Sunday, except for Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn, who will go on to Boise, Idaho, to visit their on and his family. Birth Noled-Word has been received of the birth of an 8-pound boy to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Feeler of Boise, Idaho. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burnette of Talent and Mr. and Mrs. Henry For sythe of Ashland. The baby was born May 22 and has been named James David. Local and Personal Recupeialing-Mrs. Richard Schaffran was a patient at Rogue Valley hospital recent ly and is now recuperating at home in Prospect. Hospitalized - D. M. (Bud) Chandler of Prospect was tak en to a valley hospital May 21 for medical treatment. Horse Show - A horse show will be held at the Josephine county fairgrounds at Grants Pass Saturday and Sunday. Dispenser Broken - A soft drink dispensing machine at a service station at 1175 Court st. was broken into some time Wednesday night or Thursday morning end an undetermined amount of money was taken, according to Medford police. Station attendants reported the breakage Thursday morn ing. Driver Cited - Jean An drew Mills, 35, of 415 South Newtown St., was cited by Medford police for disobey ing a traffic signal Thursday after the car he was driving collided with a vehicle oper ated by LaBlanche Iola Rose, 57, of 16 South Newtown St., about 11:38 a.m. at Fourth st. and Central ave. No injuries were reported, officers said. Breakfast Set - The annual Buckaroo breakfast, sponsor ed by the Moose lodge, will be held Sunday, May 26, from 1 a m. until noon at the Moose hall, 11 Newtown st. The event is usually held on the opening date of fishing season and the public is invited to attend. Proceeds will benefit Moose Haven. Choir To Tour - Two stu dents from southern Oregon are listed in the Pacific Luth eran University "Choir of the West," which will tour Europe and present 41 concerts in leading cities of Norway, Denmark, Germany and France. The southern Oregon members are Judith Bjorlie, Ashland, and Donald Isensee, Klamath Falls. The choir was scheduled to leave from the Seattle airport on a chartered United Airlines DC-7 constel lation today for the two-month tour. Dinner Set-The Hope Pres byterian church, Rogue River, will hold a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 27, in Barnett hall of the church. Honorary Elects - Miss Bar bara Preston, Medford, was elected to Phi Alpha, honorary scholastic organization for seniors at Whitworth college at the school's senior investi ture recently. Sixteen seniors were accepted into Phi Alpha, which requires attendance at Whitworth for at least one year and a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 during four years of college. In the Applegate ranger district, roads are open to the 5,900 -foot snowline except Elliott, Glade and Yale creek roads. The road into Squaw lake is reported to be rough, but passable. Heavy log truck traffic is reported on other roads in this district. Squaw lake, Mule, Glade, Cook and Green trails also are open, as are the camp grounds except for Wrangle. In the Ashland district, no trail maintenance has been done this spring, officials not ed, and the Loop and Tolman roads are open to Bull gap. The Fish lake rd. is passable, but rough between Fish lake and Lake of the Woods. Campgrounds open are Fish lake, Beaver dam, Daley creek and Dead Indian Soda Spring. The majority of the main roads in the lower elevations of Prospect district are open, but snow and logs are still blocking routes in the higher elevation roads. Heavy log truck traffic is reported on Woodruff Creek, Abbott creek and Woodruff access roads. No trail maintenance has been started in the district, but work has begun on open ing trails in the higher coun try in the Union Creek ranger district. Most forest roads in the Un ion creek district are blocked by snow or fallen timber. Campgrounds closed include the south side of Union Creek, Muir creek, Hamaker and Huckleberry campgrounds due to snow. Campgrounds open in the Union Creek district include Woodruff, Natural bridge, Farewell Bend, Foster creek and the north side of Union Creek campground. The snow is down to the 4,800 foot elevation, officials reported, and is melting fast. Bcckey's cafe at Union Creek is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and rooms, cabins, fishing supplies and gasoline are available at the resort. Tobo Rock Trading Post Open on Week End The Table Rock Trading Mart, 4657 Table Rock rd Central Point, will open Sat urday and Sunday. HARPST Ashland - Dorothy Teresa Harpst, 50, of route 2, box 1716, Coo, Bay, died Thurs day afternoon while visiting ! in Ashland. She was born Feb. 2, 1904, at Shingletown, Calif. She was married to Chester Harpst on Dec. 15, 1025, and was a mem ber of the Community church in Charleston, Ore. Survivors include her hus band; one brother, Ted Sav age, Coos Bay; two daughters, Mrs. Marietta Moon, Coos Bay, and Mrs. Clarianna Frcel, Charleston, Ore.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Community church In Charleston, Ore. The Rev. John Turkington will offici ate. Interment will be In Ocean View cemetery at Em pire. Funeral arrange ments will be announced by Conger-Morris Funeral directors. MARGARET H. CONNORS Ashland - Margaret Hilda Connors, 82, of 506 Park St., Ashland, died Wednesday. She was born May 3, 1881 in Davenport, Iowa. She was married to Edward C. Con nors in 1916 in Anchorage, Alaska, and moved to Ashland following Mr. Connors' retire ment in 1955. He was killed in 1955 in an automobile ac cident.
