The Celtics wrapped up the title four games to two over Los Angeles by whipping the Lakers 112 109 Wednesday night before a record Sports Arena basketball crowd of 15,521. Bob Cousy finished his 13 year pro career on a trium phant note Wednesday night as he scored 18 points and proved to be a steady influ ence on the Celtics when the Lakers threatened in the clos ing stages. The Lakers led at the end of the first period 35-33, but the end of the third period found the Celts with a 92-80 lead. Cousy Hurt They still held a 10-point lead early in the fourth quar ter when Cousy fell and hurt his left ankle and instep. Salem Race Team Here On Sunday A bug racing team from Salem will be here Sunday, April 28 for races at the Med ford kartways. The Salem karU are among the fastest on the West Coast and the drivers are tops. Kartcrs from Roseburg, Reedsport and Happy Camp, Calif., are expected to join those from Salem and the Medford area. State regional races will be conducted on June 9 at the Medford track. Winners of re gional on May 19 at St. Helens and on two dates in Portland will contend in the state meet. He pointed out that Roseburg Is always tough for Medford and that Shasta's young club is much stronger than indicated in the Torna does' recent 6 to 1 win over the Wolves.
