(Knackstedt photo) Five Chapters to Mark Founding of Sorority The thirty-second anniver sary of the founding of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will be observed April by the five local chapters which make up the Medford city council of the porroity. A banquet will be served at 7 pjm in North's Chuck Wagon restaurant ban quct room and members from the five chapters will partici pate. Reservations should be made with each chapter presi dent. The first chapter of the so rority wis formed In Abilene, Kan. There now are 7,000 chapters and 150,000 mem bers in 14 countries. Parties Honor Miss Neilson; Wedding Set Miss Gloria Neilson, whose j marriage to William AKer, will be an event of Friday, April 26 has been honored at recent showers. The first, on April 6, was in the home of Mrs. Clifford Voight, 5 Valley View drive. Cohostesses with Mrs. Voight were Mrs. Thad Hatton, Mrs. Jack Sides and Mrs. William Sicbcrt. About 40 guests at tended the evening event. Miss Neilson was presented miscellaneous gifts. Refreshments were served in the wedding theme from a table centered with pink roses arranged with a bow and arrow. Miss Julie Gandt furnished a program of songs. Miss Neilson was guest of honor April 11 when Mrs. Lylc Anderson, 2136 East Jackson street, entertained in her home. The event was at tended by neig hborhood friends, who presented the bride-elect miscellaneous gifts. Refreshments were served. Miss Neilson is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Neil son, 2130 East Jackson street and Mr. Aker is a son of John Aker, Pittsburgh, Pa., and the late Mrs. Aker. Both the bride-elect and her fiance attended San Jose State college and the bride elect is a graduate of Stephens college, Columbia, Mo. She holds a bachelor of arts de gree from San Jose Stale col lege and the past year did graduate work there to re ceive her teaching degree. The bridegroom-elect, who has attended Michigan State university obtained his degree in criminology in February at San Jose State college and also will teach. Mr. Aker is a houseguest at the Neilson home and out of town guests for the wed ding are to arrive during the week.
