Hurner, who resides at 1233 Stevens st.. joined the city police department in January, 1980. His assignment with the detective division is expected to last the remainder of this week. He is filling in for Detec tive Milton Hanson, who is hospitalized with a whiplash, which he sustained when the patrol car in which he was riding was struck from the rear Friday night by another vehicle.
