Medford police Patrolman
Richard Hurner, 24, has been
temporarily ssigned to de
tective division to replace an
officer injured in a traffic ac
cident last Friday, according
to Chief of Police Charles
Champlin.
Hurner, who resides at
1233 Stevens st.. joined the
city police department in
January, 1980. His assignment
with the detective division is
expected to last the remainder
of this week.
He is filling in for Detec
tive Milton Hanson, who is
hospitalized with a whiplash,
which he sustained when the
patrol car in which he was
riding was struck from the
rear Friday night by another
vehicle.
The detective division is
temporarily being headed by
Keith M. Gildesgard In the ab
sence of Lt. Lyle C Perkins,
who is attending the FBI
training school in Washing
ton, D.C
Due to paltry poultry con
ditions, Easter eggs are ex
pected to be extremely
scarce this year.
If you want any, you'd
better make a direct deal
with some chicken right now
to get them on the layaway
plan.
