He was educated in the Grants Pass schools and on Aug. 21, 1930, J was married to Ellen M. Franco of Ashland, who sur vives. He was employed by the Greyhound Lines until 1941 1 when he became Civilian Post transportation officer at Camp j White for the duration of World War H.
