An open area will be left in the center of the Medford Armory for the dancing. Another highlight of the Fun Fair which is staged simultaneously with the Pear Blossom Festival will be Gun Fighters, Inc. This is a new show and will draw one of the largest crowds to the fair, the committee indicated in an nouncing the program. Ar thur Murray dancers and skaters from the Hollerena will appear In productions Saturday and Sunday. ' The Brookings Azalea Fes' tival queen and her court will be special guests Saturday and Sunday. The second annual Yo-Yo contest of the Crater Lions club also will be incorporated in the Fun Fair festivities. Family Gets Letter On Son's Activities Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Whise nant of Phoenix have received a personal letter from Lt. Cmdr. H. P. Granger report ing on the "fine job" being done by their son, Norman Doyle Whisenant. "I have had the occasion to observe your son at work and play for over 18 months and I am continually impress ed with his ability, sincerity and his honest endeavors to serve his country to the best of his ability. In today's Navy where the Aircraft Carrier is the very backbone of our fighting fleet, you can be just ly proud of your son's contri bution," the letter read in part. CLUES TO PLANE Santanna Di Valdicri, It aly - IUPII - An Italian police ski patrol has recovered three pages of a navigation book which may belong to King Saud's missing Comet IV Jet liner. The plane disappeared March 20 and it believed to have crashed in the Alps near here killing all 18 persons aboard. The wreckage has not yet been found. OBITUARIES JEAN BARTON Funeral services for Jean Barton, 6. of Eagle Point, who died Friday, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Perl Fu neral home. The Rev. Warren Christen n, pastor of the Eagle Point Community churcht-will offi ciate. Interment at Memory Gardens Memorial park will be private. Jean was born June 21, 19S6, in Northridge, Calif. She moved to Eagle Point with her parents four years ago, and was a student in first grade at the Eagle Point grade school. Survivors include her pa rents, John E. and Mary F. Barlon; one brother, Danny Barton; three sisters, Diane Barton, Donne Barton, Dar- lene Barton, all of Eagle Point; her maternal grandpa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bru ner. Eagle Point, and her pa ternal grandmother, Mrs, Irene Welch, Hemet, Calif. KATHERINE HALL Grants Pass - Mrs.' Kath- crlne Hall, 59, formerly of Medford, died in a Grants Pass nursing home Friday.. She was born in Cumber land City. Tcnn., in 1903. Mrs. Hall was a nurse and had worked at Seward, Alas ka, and Medford in addition to Grants Pass. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 1, at L. B. Hall Funeral home. 141 Northwest C St., Grants Pass. Friends may donate in her memory to the Oregon Nurses Association, District 16, in care of the Josephine General hospital. It will be added to the funds to pay for one room in the new hospital, - MABEL E. LENZ Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Elsie Lenz, 71, of 4219 Colver rd., Medford who died Thursday, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Conger-Morris downtown chapel. The Rev. John O. Reynolds of West minster Presbyterian church will officiate. Committal will be in the family plot in Jack sonville cemetery. Mrs. Lenz was born Sept. 15, 1891, in Talent, Ore., a daughter of the late John C. and Ida Brlner Allen. Her hus band, Julius F. Lenz, preced ed her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert L. Stewart, Medford; and Mrs, Ruth Ringo, Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. JENNIE1 M. YANTISS Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie M. Yantiss, 83, of 712 Flannery St., Santa Clara, Cal if., who died Tuesday, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel in the Trees Mor tuary in Siskiyou Memorial park. . The Rev. Fredrick R. Evans of the First Christian church of Medford will officiate. Pri vate interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mrs. Yantiss was born Nov. 7, 1879, in Bazine, Kan. She was married to John Yantiss, who preceded her in death In May, 1946. ' She was a member of the First Christian church of Med ford, and moved from Med ford to California in 1952. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. B. Rawl tngs, Santa Clara, Calif.; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Irean Grigsby of Medford, preceded her in death. ANNIE NEELEY Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Neeley, 78, of 130 White Oak dr., who died Wed nesday, were held Saturday at Memory Gardens Funeral home. I. UUttH LONDON OREGON The Rev. Bernard Andrews, pastor of the First Baptist church, Medford, officiated. Interment was in Memory Gardens Memorial park. Mrs. Neclcy was born Dec. 4. 1884, in Decatur, Tex., the daughter of Irvin and Emma Freeman. She was married in Tcxhoma, Tex., July 1, 1906, to James Franklin Nec lcy, who preceded her in death in November 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Neclcy came to Talent, Ore, from Califor nia in 1933, and, in 1938, they moved to Medford. Mr. Neeley was active in farming, land subdividing and owned a trailer park. Survivors include two sons, Clinton Neclcy, Medford, and Earl Neeley, Los Angeles, Cal if.; three daughters, Mrs. Al (Ellyn) Fikel, W o o f o r d Heights, Calif.; Mrs. Frank (Lucille) Welsh, Reno, Nev., and Mrs. Thomas (Loretta) Shoop, Medford; 10 grand children, and eight great grandchildren. Another son, Thomas S. Neeley, preceded both h 1 s parents in death in Septem ber, 1960. Casket bearers were Lee Hobbs, Robert Heffernan, E. N. Nelson, Harvey Beatly, John Mitchell and E. B. Eck les. SARA MADDUX Miss Sara Ann Maddux, 13, daughter of Maj. Gen. and Mrs. Sam Maddux Jr., died Thursday at Hickam Air Base, Hawaii. Mrs. Maddux is the former Charlotte Collins of Medford. Prior to his re tirement in 1952, he was ah employee of the Oregon atate forest department for. many years. He had been resi dent of Oregon, and of this community for the past 32 years. Survivors include tnree sis ters, Mrs. Ada Williams, Day ton, Ohio, Mrs. Bessie H. John son, Macomb, 111., and Mrs. Alice M. Anderson, Compton, Calif.; and a nephew. Arrested - Ashland police arrested John Robert Steven son, 55, of 460 Siskiyou blvd., Ashland, Saturday morning and lodged him in Jackson county jail on a charge of uttering and publishing a fraudulent check. Smoke Investigation - In vestigating report of smoke under the residence of Wayne Archer, 1211 Saling St., Med ford firemen found a fire in thti lint trap of a clothes dry er. The firemen were called at 2:05 p.m. Saturday.
