The wife of the Nobel priis winning scientist. Dr. Linus Pauling, she will speak. The event is open to both men and women. Ava Pauling To Be Speaker For Luncheon Ashland-Rescrvations may still be made for the Friday, March IS, luncheon in Ash land, honoring Mrs. Ava Helen Pauling, wife of the scientist, Dr. Linus Pauling, They may be made by con tacting Miss Irene Wehrll, 472-3206. The luncheon will be held at noon at the Mark Antony hotel and is open to all in terested persons. It is being sponsored by Ashland Sorop timist club, Mrs. Pauling will speak on "Prospects for World Cooper ation and Peace." She is na tional vice president of the Women's International League for Peace and Free dom and a member of the American Civil Liberties union. During February attend ance at the center classes and other activities totaled 445 persons, more than 100 above the same month last year. Many of the seniors are new comers to Medford. One of them, Mrs. C. S. Swain, Gold Hill, has volunteered to bring the center's membership file up to date. She is also work ing with the Rogue Valley Council on Aging. It was explained that once the file has been made cur rent, all seniors who use the center will be located on a map which was started in 1961 by Mrs. Harry Fuller, former children's librarian in Medford, now living in Ta coma, Wash. Seniors who have filing experience, and wish to assist with the project, may contact Mrs. Fred Rankin, chairman of the center coor- nssible to determine the cen ter of senior population now interested in the center's serv ices. j The Singing Seniors meets at the center each Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. For other activities, seniors may contact the center.
