Hood Tlmberllne Lodge-ttlPB-The wreckage ol a light plane which disappeared earlier this month on a flight from Port land to Burns was found on White River Glacier on the south side of Mt. Hood Sun day. The single -engine aircraft was piloted by Airman 2C Ronald P. Myers, 22, Port land. His body was recovered. The plane vanished Feb. 2 after taking off In murky weather on the first leg of a flight to Willlnms Air Force Base, Ariz. Myers was sta tioned at the base. The plane, a military ver slon of the Beechcraft Bonan za, was operated by the Air Force Flying club of Arizona, a civilian organization. Myers was a member of the club. Russ McJury and S. Shep ard Wilson, who operate the Mt. HIT8 CUBAN INFLUX Miaml-WI-A ranking mem ber of the House Armed Serv ices Committee said Sunday night it would have been bet ter for the Cuban efugecs to have stayed In Cuba. "They are not doing a bit of good in downtown Miami." said Rep. Walter Norblad (R Ore.). He said the refugees could have carried out sabo tage and intelligence activities against Fidel Castro's Com munist regime had they stay ed in Cuba. Spring To Slay For Most of Week Portland -IUPU-The weather man said today that "spring" would last at least a couple of more days in Oregon. Although spring officially is more than five weeks away, temperatures in the high 60s and bright sunshine sent res idents scurrying to the moun tains and beaches Sunday. Newport had a high of 70 and readings in the high 60s were commonplace In West ern Oregon. Temperatures are expected to drop to near normal for this time of year after Wed nesday or Thursday, the weather man said. Little pre cipitation Is expected this week. Ashland Band Sets Valentine Concert The Ashland High School band, under dire.tion of Raoul G. Maddo , is present ing a Vale tine'g Day concert at the Ashland High school gymnasium Thursday, Feb. 14.
